Hey guys. I was thinking of purchasing a Tab but was wondering if there are some firmware version I should watch out for that locked the bootloader? I remember reading Chainfire talking about it months ago.
Just worried the seller has this f/w.

QUOTE(yukissken @ Jun 27 2011, 02:40 PM) why my gtab apps just install on my 1.6gb memory ? not install on my 32gb built in memory ?? if i want to upgrade to official italy 2.3.3 gingerbread i need to flash the bootloader 1st?? You need to select Move to SD from your applications setting. Some apps can be moved to internal storage, some can't.

QUOTE(vostro78 @ Jun 27 2011, 05:20 PM) the samsung e warranty ouside of the box is SME set.and the seal should not b broken if it is a new set. Hey, what if an independent seller claims to sell unopened box with a samsung sticker? When does the warranty start?

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Jun 30 2011, 04:12 PM) Looking at the last few pages of posts, I always wondered why there is so much fascination with using Kies to update the Tab's firmware. I had thought that ODIN was a simpler tool for this with a higher success rate. Using ODIN, I have flashed European GB (P1000XXJMQ) and Malaysian GB (P1000DXJPC) without problems.. I've never installed or used Kies before, so maybe I will just keep wondering.. Wow i just kantoi'd my tab flashing using Odin 1.3. Must use 1.7 and pit from KM3 to JPD is it? QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Jun 30 2011, 06:10 PM) Yeah, if I remember correctly, I used Odin 1.7 with PIT to go up to JPC some weeks back. Wasn't too special compared to JQ1 which I also tried before. I've never heard of JPD firmware, though. Now happily using Overcome 2.0.1 custom ROM. What is the pit file to use? And is there a link with instructions I can follow? Once bitten..twice shy.. Thanks in advance. This post has been edited by Piccolo: Jun 30 2011, 06:26 PM

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Jun 30 2011, 06:30 PM) I don't remember using dbdata.tar (as advised by chainfire in his JQ1 stock flash thread @ xda-dev). Anyway, if I am not wrong, I followed the setup as shown at http://samsungbbs.cnmo.com/thread-396707-1-1.html for JPC. Thanks and cheers. Will look into that tomorrow. Left my cable in the office
