Ha! Ha! That's a good joke. But that's not the reason that I was annoyed.

The reason I was annoyed that the GTAB was mistakenly identified as an ipad was that the GTAB was not properly recognized as a much more portable device than the ipad. How practical is it for an ipad user to use the device while standing or walking around?

I don't see the value of using the ipad at home or at work either because most often the ipad has to be placed flat on a table to be used for long, or else holding it up would be straining. I very much prefer to look at a larger desktop screen when browsing and a real mouse for clicking instead of the hit-and-miss of a touch interface.

Do you mean that using this browser you can bypass the login page imposed by the wifi point and go straight to the internet without logging in?

Any setting on the browser needed to enable this?

After hearing that the official Gingerbread had become available, I installed Kies, updated Kies and then connected my Tab via USB. It reported that a new firmware is available and I proceeded to update the firmware. No errors encountered whatsoever and am now running firmware 2.3.3.

But after updating, I promptly un-installed Kies to prevent unnecessarily processes running on my PC.

I bought my Tab from DiGi so I guess the ones with problems updating via Kies might be the ones which have been flashed with other firmwares before or AP tabs.
