helpppp> =(
*
hrmm never heard anyone flash straight from 2.1 to 2.3 tho. why dont u try to flash to 2.2 first then flash back to 2.3. dwload the files from the first page regarding the ZSJPJ rom and then report back how's it goes.

i followed the every single of the steps based on this website..

http://androidadvices.com/update-samsung-g...-android-2-3-2/

and saw the comments that from 2.1 can go to 2.3 straight away..

doe it mean that i have to download for the 2.2 version and flash it back?
*
perhaps maybe it's your data connection. try wifi connection, if still not happening, reboot your phone, factory reset again, wipe cache then check back whether the market is okay or not. i flash from 2.2 to 2.3 doesnt face any of market problem.

His 2.2.1 rom is still there. refer first page.

damiangto didn't comply with gpl licence. Thus, any rom that includes dgto kernel will be taken under investigation. IMO, simone should just dump that kernel.
*
gmhafiz, do u have any idea about the GPL license? i read some devs like last time nickademus and hardcore arguing about that. what's the big deal after all?

gpl license is what made linux became successful. Basically, any software that is gpl-licensed, must provide its source code upon request. Those custom kernels are made from the official linux, thus must provide the source code.

Among other gpl-licensed softwares are like firefox, php, mysql, openoffice, gimp, etc. Linux trounces other os in the server market, stock market, supercomputers, and now smartphones. Without gpl license, we would not see such cool innovation like android smile.gif

ahhh, i see. thanks for the clarification bro. icon_rolleyes.gif it's amazing how Android OS just 1-2 year age can fight the underdog iOS somehow. hehehe

just want to share my vids taken from Qik Video Connect, the quality is okay la. and the 2 way video calls is cool, feel like no lag after all even with 3G connection. but sadly, atm only can use back camera. and also, it got the live stream videos you know, it's amazing somehow. thumbup.gif

p/s: that's a friend of mine. ignore the surroundings if you see anything weird. lol

Just got another new casing for my SGS...Pleomax Soft Durable case from Korea....it comes with 2 rubber plugs for the 3.5mm jack (to prevent dust) and a free screen protector...

It fits the SGS very well and snuggly....but not sure whether difficult to take out or not next time...

Got it from GMarket.....google it if you are keen.....around RM91 including shipping...
*
fuiyoooh nice one lah bro! smile.gif i'm thinking to get the Capdase Soft Jacket case only when i go back to malaysia this august. no bajet sangat eh. sweat.gif

No money. Sticking with SGS and waiting for next iPhone model to arrive..

So that Samsung can learn from iPhone5 specs and features then create an even more powerful SGS3, quadcore 1.5GHz with 2GB RAM and GPU with 1GB RAM and a 2500mAh battery perhaps.. smile.gif  thumbup.gif
*
i'm gonna agree with mr. kmrdeva. i think SGS is enough for me, no need dual core processor that much. and maybe my next phone after this is Iphone, wanna test other brand pula. hopefully the iphone 5 or so got bigger screen cause already get used with the large SGS screen. lol

to pcboyy : thanks a lot bro for mentioning about the connectify. biggrin.gif

edit: Samsung officially pick David Beckham for their next ambassador for SGS II. rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

Need to ask SGS sifu here a few things.

I am using whatsapp and now have my 3G data always on.  I notice that 3G eats battery pretty fast.  Is is better to use Wifi instead of 3G while in the office or just stick to 3G?  Which consumes more power...3G or Wifi?

What about switching to GSM only...will this affect whatsapp and mail performance and drain less battery?

The other thing is that I cannot find my data usage info anywhere.  Can someone show me how I can see my data usage and reset it?

When using darky's V9.5 froyo 2.2.1, do i need to disable samsung software update so that it will not check for updates all the time?  And where can i disable it?

Cheers
*
these 2 things are the usual cause for the battery drain, plus gaming in my opinion. if you use wifi, i think it drains out your battery much faster, but using 3G also just the same. somehow if you use GSM, it will use less battery but of course probably it will slow your data connection. i've tried using GSM before and i can say it's better to use 3G for the speedy internet browsing. well as for the data usage info, try 3G watchdog from the market. and dont bother about the samsung software update, the file size just about 414kb something like that.

I mean the kernel source. without it, hardcore & supercurio have to spend months to hack it.

i read supercurio's tweet saying that the coding(intrafrms) in JVH kernel is really different from previous samsung build. cant wait to flash this tho. smile.gif

Im using PC, i already checked the setting>wireless and network>tethering but the option is greyed out.
Fed up with slow ass 3G connection lol
My housemate didn't set anything he said, just plug the phone to the PC and select option PC Internet, then can online already.
hmm..
*
usb settings> mass storage, plug in your sgs to laptop but dont share usb connection. find the usb tethering again in wireless network, thick and then wait for laptop to install driver than you're done. easy
