Haha, no wonder.. will use stock 1ghz and hopefully it solves my heating problem.. do you know what's the issue with lightsensor? I flash the latest nightly update to fix lightsensor but still dont know whats it all about.. LOL

what is the most normal free ram available for gingerbread? my ram max i saw 114 only. then normal around 75.

Edit: widgetsoid show my ram only 75 but i go in running application there show 110mb? 

i had tried bilboa and glitch (now on glitch)
i experianced no problem with bilboa but with glitch so far got hang twice (and reboot itself).

The problem with MIUI or cm7, I can't restore apps using mybackup pro, TB or other apps.. even Nandroid backup gives me FC on almost all apps.. I have to start everything from scratch ... i hope other friends can give guidance how to settle this..

*on 2nd thought, i think it's because of cm7 external sd is located at /emmc folder.. so all backup apps face problem to retrieve the data... just my 2cent

My TB backup data files are all in internal sdcard, thus the location is inside /sdcard/TitaniumBackup folder. Not in external sdcard. All of my restored apps works without FC. my angry bird & asphalt progress are restored as well.

Try this: before restoring, change the backup folder location. It's there in the TB preference. change it from /mnt/sdcard/TitaniumBackup to /mnt/sdcard/emmc

- no quick dialing. any recommendation for phone dialer?
- very simple camera app. will hunt for a good camera app.
- terrible keyboard, using touchpal keyboard. any other good free keyboard?

CF-Root. haha. i pull out the battery. first got that (!) screen
then i try to enter download mode, success! and re-flash, now rooted

MIUI chantek but lags! and it's iOS alike! and there's so many things needed to be done by me (average user) to get it to work ((RIL polling issue))! and then there's the fact that almost all my apps setting (saved by TB) disappearing after I restore. luckily I have my TB folder backed up to my PC before going to CM7.
and one other thing: I kinda have emotional attachment to TW4, it's bloody AWESOME!

there's someone in XDA who managed to port SGS II lockscreen to SGS GB rom. every ROM packager surely will implement this lockscreen as soon as the porter upload the sources. I predict by next week all popular rom will get this. 

how about the camera and videos in cm7? in miui, i always got fc when changing to higher resolution when taking pics, and the videos 720p is still not good as stock samsung one.

does CM7 theme universal? means that theme from other phone cm7 can be use with our phone?

yeah I actually noticed that when I'm on CM7. no need to lock-unlock to enable data. but I need codec support from Samsung.
1) yes, it's true. CM7 doesn't lag at all. I know this very well. but codec support is what makes me jump back to Samsung rom. I want to be able to brag to my friends that I don't need to convert any of my videos to be played in my phone.
2) as I thought, there are still lags in MIUI.

now waiting for full TW4 icons on Goatrip JVH. that's what this rom lacks. everything else just AWESOME!

After using the SGS for a week, here is my little review of the Samsung Galaxy S

The main problem with this phone is the firmware.  With the stock firmware that  came with the phone from samsung, most people will hate this phone eventually. I try the stock firmware by installing a live wallpaper and put a couple of widgets on the screen and that is enough to make me wanna flash custom firmware immediately.  With just a few widgets and live wallpaper, the phone start too lag and quite badly too. How could the stock firmware be so laggy even with a 1gz cpu?

But flashing the phone to custom firmware did solve part of the lagging issues.  I am on Darky's Extreme v9.5 and its extremely smooth but still lag in certain places. Things are really smooth on the home screen but the icons scrolling in the app drawer is not as smooth.  I have use use the iphone 4 a lot and I can say the iphone is a damn smooth phone.  The other area I notice lagging and quite badly is the call logs and the call favorites.  Is this a problem with is particular firmware andcan this be solve is not sure.  But that somehow shows that this is not a very smooth phone.

I have read  a lot about other custom rom and all seems to have a fair share of bugs.  So there is really no rom that can make the SGS works like it should be. 

The next thing i wanna talk about is the screen.  I heard a lot about how great is the Super Amoled screen on the SGS but my feeling is somehow mixed on this one.  The super amoled is indeed a colorful screen and its really sharp. The black is really beautiful too and i love the 4 " size which is not too big and not too small. But somehow the color is too oversaturated and inaccurate. My wife was asking why is the screen color look so fake!  I was comparing the same web page with my friends iphone 4 side-by-side and the iphone 4 screen is brighter with the background white that looks white, while the same background on the SGS is blueish instead of white. I was applying a screen protector yesterday under a bright table lamp and I can see the SGS glass is actually blue color.  This really affect the color of the picture as it looks very un-natural.

The other thing I notice is that the gps is broken.  Sometimes I can get a lock on the gps stations, but sometimes it just won't work. Considering that I bought this phone 9 months after its official release, how come samsung continue to produce this phone with a broken gps that is not fixed?

Battery life is quite good as I can use the phone for the whole day till i need to recharge before I go to bed with moderate usesage.

The other thing I find lacking is the Android Market. I am starting to miss the Apple's App Store. The apple store have both quantity and quality software to suits  almost anybody, but the same cannot be said about the Android Market.  Its just no comparison. 

Anyway, the above is just my views regarding the SGS after 1 week.  Hope there is a better firmware coming up.

Some people might hate the iPhone 4, but the sales is telling a different story.

Scrolling through the call logs has always lagged for me since Eclair days, no different in latest Gingerbread JVH stock rom. It doesn't lag in CM7 rom for me, but then again, I had lost all my entries when I moved to CM7, currently only 10 entries, so no jerkiness or lagginess yet.
