what does gingerbread mean?
*
It's just the way they name their Android versions, using names of food. It runs in alphabetical order....

Cupcake
Donut
Eclair - version 2.1
Froyo (frozen yoghurt) -version 2.2
Gingerbread - version 2.3
Honeycomb
Ice Cream?haha

Officially, we have Froyo 2.2 versions in Malaysia.....but with custom roms, we can get Froyo 2.2.1 or Gingerbread 2.3 (from other parts of the world)...

After you install the Ext4 v1.2 apk, it will automatically convert RFS to Ext 4 right?....but how to change back to RFS?...is it easy to do so?

Thanks.....i"m on Chainfire 3.1 too....also thinking of trying EXT4 but not sure if it is easy to undo....

Oops...panicking now....

I use the CWM Manager to convert to EXT4......after conversion, the phone keep blinking intermittently at the Galaxy S screen......haven't reboot into system yet......

what should I do next?

Edit: Phew, managed to go to download mode and flash back to EZBase Rom.....i thought my SGS mati already...

Lesson learnt...don't play play with EXT4 conversion unless you are very sure!

i'm back with MIUI MGv1. now i can say MIUI totally amazing!

Some poison for you guys, hehehe..

Camera: quality more look like stock samsung camera now, no more lines at all. zoom okay, so far satisfied with it. hehehe
Video: normal 720p like the one in stock samsung.
Battery: need more test, just flash it 15 mins ago.
Launcher: no more lags! even with my favs 'falldown' animation really rocks! this one that i like the most, the DarkUI. hoho
Data connection: normal to me, works okay. usb tethering works normally too, but i still wont install the drivers from MIUI cause afraid my drivers for stock rom will get messed up.

so sleepy already. gotta hit the bed! biggrin.gif

Hi, since we are at this topic (for a short while, okay?...since this is a SGS thread) and you are an ex-iphone user, may I ask you a question...this is a question that has always cropped up in my mind but i don't understand...

How do iPhone users live with a phone that cannot connect to a PC via USB port? It just puzzles me...

Don't they miss the convenience of simply plugging in to a PC and transfer photos, videos, large drawings or documents wherever they are...in office PC, go to a friends home and use their PC, visit a friends office and transfer file to their PC........and let's say you have a DSLR camera, after taking some nice photos, you can easily copy to your phone using USB cable....

Is iTunes really that good and fast to transfer files....and can you do it everywhere or only PC that has iTunes installed?

Hi, just sharing some info. Long ago when I was on Doc's ROM last year, my MMS setting used to work perfectly. Sending and receiving MMS no problem....since Froyo 2.2.1 and Gingerbread 2.3.3...my MMS setting cannot work anymore although I try to create the same APN as previously and even follow the 1st page of this thread ( i don't know why)....

So, for some of you who might be facing MMS issue, do try this APNs setting that I discovered today and YES, it worked for me. I can send and receive MMS now.

I'm currently running on Criskelo Gingerbread XWJVB ROM.

If you are keen to try, follow the picture attached.

Create 2 APNs:

1) Maxis 3G WAP

2) Maxis 3G MMS

Let me know whether it worked for you?

Remember to reboot your phone after setting up the APNs....

Our SGS can connect to TV via TV Out to play games on a big screen, right?

Can we do the same with a PC monitor or Notebook screen?
