The movie itself:
Naan Mahaan Alla is about a cool, happy go lucky Jeeva (Karthi), who lives life on his own terms. Though Jobless, his parents, especially his father, never fail to give him money and shower love and affection on him. It is love at first sight with the smart and beautiful Priya (Kajal Aggarwal) and love blossoms between the two. But all is not well in paradise when his father Jayaprakash (Jayaprakash), a call taxi driver, is subjected to a murder attempt as he was the sole witness to a girl being taken by a gang in his call taxi, who subsequently happens to end up on the television news, murdered and chopped into pieces. The gang eventually murders Jeeva's Dad, leaving Jeeva shattered. It is then that the movie plays true to its title (Naan Mahaan Alla loosely translates into 'I am not a saint') and Jeeva's life takes a drastic turn - he sets out on a mission to identify the culprits and goes running around the town baying for their blood, eventually avenging his father's death. As you can see, there is nothing original about the story. But, it is a commercial entertainer which is worth a watch.

The film looks fantastic on Blu-ray with its 1080p/AVC-encoded transfer, which is crisp and clean. Though the picture's color scheme is muted compared to some other movies I've seen recently, skin tones are warm and the Black levels are solid with the exception of a few dimly lit scenes. Clarity is simply exceptional in most scenes with only some CGI sequences showing blurring and softening of the image. There are no traces of heavy-handed DNR to be seen and no overt edge enhancement. I've said it before and I'll say it again here: Ayngaran's recent contemporary releases have been spot on. Naan Mahaan Alla is no exception.
Audio:
Naan Mahaan Alla explodes onto Blu-ray with a powerhouse DTS-HD MA 5.1 lossless soundtrack. Though it is bombastic and loud in the sound design department, this is one helluva smooth track. Dialogue throughout is very crisp, stable and clean, with wonderful detail. Every speaker in your arsenal will come out to play, while engaging in the Action and Song sequences. I didn't particularly listen to the Tamil 5.1 LPCM Uncompressed Studio Master, but it has traditionally rivalled the DTS-HD MA soundtrack.

Overall:
Naan Mahaan Alla is a commercial potboiler done right. The Blu-ray disc is a winner as well—with a striking high definition transfer and a strong audio track—although it does come up short in the supplements department. Regardless, if you're looking for something fun, with a decent sprinkling of romance, and as violent as a 15 rating will allow, the BD definitely fits the bill.

Avatar 3D? That's a crackpot expensive..its actually part of Panasonic Exclusive 3D Starter Bundle with 2 pair of 3D Glasses + Blu-ray 3D. Bestbuy has it for $399.99 (USD)..
Is there anywhere i can get them without the 3D glasses and at a lower price ?
We can discuss this in private..btw..just to warn you if you are planning to get it from eBay, there's loads of fake 3D blu-ray sellers mostly from Thailand, China, Hong Kong that i've identified. You might wanna beware while bidding or buying it from eBay..

Karak is KRU Production film . Pirates was awesome , Johnny Depp was hilariously as usual , Penélope Cruz as Angelica in the movie was hot . No news about any sequel yet but the movie has grossed over USD 634,767,000 million so far .
As usual greedy studios will release the Single title and Quadrilogy on BD. Also i heard that Lion King will be re-released in 3D in cinema? Is that true , any that you know of?
I will surely wait for the Quadrilogy on BD , unless there is more sequel to come .I think there will be a sequel . In regards to Lion King 3D , its true . Disney has confirmed the release of a 3D version of its hit title The Lion King. The animated classic from 1994 with appear in cinemas for a limited run from September 16.
I think i watched Lion King after several years it were released. Would love to see this in cinema in 3D although not a fan of 3D. Studios are always greedy bro, they will definitely release it regardless of sequel to come or not.
Just an example of Bollywood bd's lately , Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, KKKG, Kal Ho Na Ho (if you have seen the other version YRF's). Yash Raj Films released it several months before Sony Music released a better quality product compared to YRF's. Competition among studios !

I agree with u on the part where the studios are greedy , they really exploit every avenue of generating an income . I am going for X-Men 1st Class this friday at Signature . You might or might not be aware that i work on odd hours , not like those on normal working hours. So during midnight and early morning is my time to catch up movies. A long marathon last week until 7.30 am in the morning , then crash on bed.
I left few more from the list..Watchmen The Ultimate Cut w rare slip (bloody 35 bucks , used item), got back my X-Men trilogy from eBay too (already have Wolverine), Ghostbuster w rare slip, Gremlins w slip, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs w slip (got it for 22 bucks). Just grabbed all i want for the next 3 months. New titles can wait till price drop. Not gonna rush into.

I do, but classic ones, i always wish to see Macgyver, V (80's mini series) , CHiPs (70's series), Hawaii Five O (60's), Incredible Hulk (80's i think), The Streets of San Francisco (Michael Douglas), Mind Your Language, Hollyoaks In The City (UK), Little Britian (Comedy) on Blu-ray. Fingers crossed though.
BBC should release Little Britian. Hollyoaks i think ITV has the rights (the last i watched in the UK). Don't ask me about new series, dont reckon any of them

Ah yes, Knight Rider , Airwolf my favorites too..another one bro..Gaban , the Japanese series , Black Masked Rider . Some classic cartoons if i remember the names correctly , G-Force, Silverhawks, Voltron (already on BD), TMNT (The new animation on BD) & Plus the boxset (regret selling it off), Thundercats, He-Man, She-Ra, Smurfs etc
The list will go on and on..im sure the rest would have something to add here when they see this..

Nah bro , Desperate Housewives is not on BD yet . I wouldnt get it . I would rather get other movies / series on BD . One of my fav House M.D is on BD but only season 6 and 7 . Any idea why they dont release from season 1 up to the latest one ?
