Fetish for slipcovers? Well, i'm not 'aroused' wif slipcovers although it'll be nice to have it where it's supposed to be (to protect the casing on the shelf)... and prefer anything in its original form.. intact and not removed from the original release. So far, only 2 titles came without slipcovers as far as I can remember in my collection: Terminator Salvation & G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Although no big deal, the GI Joe was rather bare at the backcover when all the movie credits printed on the slipcover...

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ May 6 2011, 09:48 AM) Finish watching El Topo, from the same director before he shot The Holy Mountain. OK la, this one not that madness, and more story.... but it still category in not "normal" film. ----------------------- From review at blu-ray.com, if you own the BD, they is a commentary by Director Alejandro Jodorowsky discusses his inability to make a "normal" film. " Filmmaker has to do what he feels, no matter what. Even if people leave the theater...I don't care, I've done what I've wanted to do. Time will tell if what I did has value or not." WOW! I salute him! This is 'art for art sake' or syiok sendiri...

QUOTE(sKyWiR3pT3lTd @ May 7 2011, 03:27 PM) How many of you trust eBay when comes to buying Blu-ray? i don't trust them by solely based on their reviews or ratings... because transactions are between individuals; especially if there's no after-sales customer service assurance like Amazon. dats just my take...

QUOTE(sKyWiR3pT3lTd @ May 8 2011, 11:12 AM) Well said, but sometimes i think the price offered by some of the sellers , really tempting. For eg ; when we can get Black Swan blu-ray for RM60, comparing with Amazon where we get it , for eg; RM80. It does make difference. Price cheaper but assurance not guaranteed. Just a thought.. true... low price but high risk. to each his/her own i guess... QUOTE(dirtrun @ May 8 2011, 01:09 PM) I used to get frm ebay sellers abt 2 yrs bck when I 1st startd collectin, as it was cheaper than amz .. then.. For now, wif so much uhm pirated ttls frm china.. well, its best to be wary.. I, for one hvnt used ebay to buy anymore.. D agreed, ive read someone bought frm ebay & got pirated disc though ori casing...

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ May 8 2011, 06:42 PM) The review of National Security PQ is only 3.5 ............ think twice. Most the Sony promotion is either B grade film or lousy PQ film.............hmmm......... ok... by pass it haha... I've watched National Security before; while it is certainly a b-flick with unnecessary plotline and silly jokes, it is still entertaining to kill time on a lazy weekend afternoon... aka leave-your-brain-at-the-door-type flick. well, who reads review anyway bro... watch it first then decide yourself. but if it's a lousy PQ, then it is a factor for me...

Just watched Fast Five (or known here as Fast & Furious 5) earlier Tuesday at cinema and what can i say... the best flick to kickstart summer blockbuster next to Thor! F&F5 has got to be the best of the whole franchise - they upped the ante a few notch on the action bit & it's furiously furious haha... the audio's gonna rock some balls once end up on blu-ray later this year i am sure!! Dis weekend, me wanna dust-off the F&F boxset series plus F&F4 and watch a marathon...

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ May 11 2011, 11:45 AM) I not yet watching, but my friend said at the end they is a hits will be having episode 6 of Fast and Furious! Yup, if u go watch at cinema... wait til after the first end-credit, there'll be a scene revealing of a certain something... the filmmakers already writing a F&F6 but wif the same flavour as F&F5. Well, as long the 'fans' still fancy these eye-candy racing cars, brawny men & scantily-clad chicks and not forgetting non-stop-pump-up action sequences, then there could be more sequels to follow. what surprised me for Fast Five was that the first few series got negative reviews from film critics in general but this one received fairly well - high rating summore! 78% approval from 160 critics at Rotten Tomatoes considered high for a no-brainer summer flick, no? QUOTE(Andrewtst @ May 12 2011, 07:32 PM) Ops, ok... then need wait for US release. Is Canada Alliance releaae really that bad? I mean in term of PQ. for me, US release is priority... even if the quality is so so i'd rather get the official US release by original studio... i know Blade Canada is released by New Line not Alliance but i'd wait for a proper US release with added features & etc

QUOTE(johnbluraylover @ May 13 2011, 12:03 AM) agree, some CANADA ALLIANCE release is better than US. NAZ & I are the real deal who got ALLIANCE release. their steelbook is much better than the GERMAN one. those who never bought a single disc from CANADA ALLIANCE should not just criticise, after all, some of us who really own the ALLIANCE release at least know better. No offence, to each their own... ALLIANCE CANADA

They will only charged ur credit card once the parcel already despatched... so, u can cancel or change ur order before it is shipped. That's one of da thing i like about Amazon's method! QUOTE(Andrewtst @ May 15 2011, 04:01 AM) That is just your assumption, but how you know is not the supplier, I don't think the Indian customs too free to marker the price tag. Open for inspection is fine - acceptable, but marker the price tag? .... hmm....I don't think so. yup, i do agree... and for all u know it's not even brand new, maybe a used/rejected item? like what happened once: item bought frm Amazon uk was unseal & found a sales receipt inside!!?!
