Your EA should have this information. It's your income tax account number.

If you're under employment, then it'll be BE form.

If you're self employed or have own business, it'll be B form.

Hi all, I have 2 questions in regard to education fee.

1) Does the exam fees and the annual membership fees for CPA Australia, a professional accounting body, qualify for a tax relief?

2) I'm currently servicing my PTPTN loan for which i took to complete my degree from 2004-2006. Does the portion of my repayment in year 2009 qualify for tax relief under the same caption?

Regarding question 2) i was confused as according to this website, http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...88821&sec=focus, it qualifies. However, what confused me is that it will be a "bonus" for all PTPTN holders to enjoy this relief.

Thanks in advance
*
For question 2, the answer is NO. Only savings to SSPN by PTPTN is qualified for tax relief.

For question 1, the annual membership does not qualify. However, if the exam fee is part of the tuition fee of

(a) Any course of study up to tertiary level, other than a degree at Master’s or Doctorate level, undertaken for the purposes of acquiring law, accounting, Islamic financing, technical, vocational, industrial, scientific or technological skills or qualifications;

(b) any course of study for a degree at Master’s or Doctorate level undertaken for the purpose of acquiring any skill or qualification in any institution or professional body in Malaysia recognised by the Government or approved by the Minister, as the case may be.

Then, you file for it.

Thank you.

Extended hours at Jalan Duta income tax counters

PETALING JAYA: The income tax counters at Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur, will be open until 10pm Thursday and midnight Friday.

This is to help taxpayers meet the April 30 deadline, said a statement Thursday from the Internal Revenue Board.

I received a letter date 22 June nearly end of last month stating that my refund is under processing.

Last Friday, I got the cheque; nearly 2 weeks from the 1st letter.
