hi juz fill in efilling,
i should pay in the column of cukai kena bayar?
wat is the cukai terlebih bayar?
*
meaning you will get money from government instead of giving them money. tongue.gif:P

this means at first you're suppose to pay an amount of tax to the government (cukai kena bayar), then after calculating (deducting PCB, ur tax relief, rebate and everything), it turn out to be that you have paid more than the tax that you supposed to pay. therefore, after you submit, you will receive a cheque from the government. (probably 1-2 months, or 3-4 weeks after you have submitted your form thru e-filing).

i dun think it'll be long. well, what they (IRB officers) claims is that you'll be able to receive your tax refund within 1-2 months if you're using e-filing.

and i don't think they're auditing your account. unless your tax refund is like >2K. tongue.gif

i thought the "Individual and dependant relatives" has been increased to RM10,000 instead of RM8000?

please correct me if i'm wrong.

editted: I've checked the LHDN website and it's written RM9000 for 2010. Does it means for YA2010? We're doing YA2009 income tax this year right?

max is RM6K. that's for KWSP + Life insurance.
There's another portion below that, max 3K, for Medical insurance.

exactly. agree on his statement.

When it's written "dikecualikan cukai" or "tax-exempted", it has been deducted from the total income as well. you can check your EA form to see if it's tally.

other allowance fill at where?
*
For most of the companies, all the allowance has been calculated in the EA form. Under Total taxable income (i suddenly can't recall the exact name. don't have my EA form in this computer).

But it's advisable to go through your EA form carefully.

I believed we are over-taxed for year 2009 so mostly will get refunded.
*
yes. I'm not sure this is a company-thingy or government-thingy scheme. I received an email once saying that for 2009, they will actually deduct more from our salary as PCB. This is to ensure that everyone has paid their income tax.
It's like the government would rather prefer to "have your money first, pay you back later", instead of "wait for you to pay".

how about transport costs, like petrol and parking ? can be deducted ?
*
It should have been calculated in your EA form. It should have been deducted properly or written "Tax exempted". Check your EA form, it'll tells (nearly) everything.

While doing the e-BE form submission, can I go back and edit previous screen if I have not "Hantar & Tandatangan"?
*
yes. As long as you still haven't "Sign and Send", it's okay to reedit.

I have 1 question. When I'm going to get my money back if I do e-filing? It's been 1 week now.

You have to wait till at least e-filing closed shop; i.e. end of April.
*
thanks. i thought normally we can get it in roughly 1-2 weeks time (for those that submitted early)?

just received a letter from LHDN, but very funny thing, the letter was dropped into the drain, my neighbor told me that.

Dug it out and open it, the letter says that i still need to pay extra RM100++ even though my BE letter that i've just submitted lately saying that i've overpaid and i should be getting the money back from them instead of giving them.

Pissed off at the moment. I mean why the discrepancies?

Any idea on how to go about this? Go to LHDN to dig out my file?

Did they mention which year you owe?

the letter was soaked with drain water. tongue.gif

it was saying something related to 2008. but in year 2008, i paid everything.

i say the "Jumlah pendapatan untuk dicukai" is even different from my BE form (for this year).

@keeseng12,
It could be in year 2008 or years before that. The problem with LHDN is whenever we make a payment, they never acknowledge that e.g. sending a notice of payment received to the tax payer. It's very common to see this happens around.
BTW, if you have paid in year 2008, probably what you can do is print and bring the payment statement to them.

It might help.
*
thanks, guanteik.

I managed to clean that "soaked letter" and it was kinda torn into several pieces. was playing jigsaw puzzle yday. biggrin.gif

It was for year 2007. The letter was saying that there was an amount of money that hasn't been declared. It's around RM2.5K. I was kinda assuming that it could be bonus or 1 month salary that I didn't declare that time.
But it's really hard to check that out. I've lost my 2007 EA form, sending email to my previous company for the EA form. Awaiting reply.

Haiz... LHDN really making me speechless. Haiz.
But nvm, I'm going to show them a letter indicating that there's an amount of PCB that I didn't declare as well. biggrin.gif Counter-attack

Added on March 18, 2010, 3:09 pmWah, I got a shocked when I called my ex-company.

The payroll gal was saying to me that all EA form (older) has been archived and it's on a remote office. If I need the old EA form, I need to talk to them and there might be some slight charges incurred. I was like "huh??". Is there such thing?

in my case where i wrongly claimed deduction for my wife, my overpaid tax that year was used to offset the 'underpaid' tax the previous year..and LHDN automatically adjusted that without even me having to reply to them.. tongue.gif

in my case, there was an amount of PCB undeclared back then in 2007. I didn't declare that previously.
Now, they're sending me letter saying that i didn't declared a certain amount of income. i wish they automatically adjust everything for me.

sad.gif really making me feel that they take money faster than giving out money.

Quoting my own sentences. biggrin.gif for topic refresh.

Went to LHDN today (first time step into that building as previously did everything with e-filing. the building is nice, lol).
Went to ask them about the Borang JA that i've received 2 days ago.
They explained to me that it was the amount that i wrote back in my tax form for YA2008. Checked it again, yes, I wrote it back then under "Pendapatan Tahun Kebelakangan" that didn't declared back then. Surprised that only now they sent the form to me.

The tax system even stated the amount of PCB that i mentioned earlier.

So, what the system did is that the money that I'm going to get is gonna be like this:

=(Total that they need to pay me back for YA2009) - ((Amount of tax for the undeclared income that I've mentioned earlier) - (the undeclared PCB that i've mentioned earlier)).

LOL. biggrin.gif rclxms.gif

I would say "the system did the works". haha, biggrin.gif

But of coz, i'll give full credit to the lady worker that assisted me on this. She's been helpful, though didn't speak in a extreme polite manner, at least she solved my question. smile.gif
