You're not gettting 4mbps yet is because your login account is still restricting you with 1mbps speed. Once you upgrade, TM will open up your login ID to increase your download speed.

Of course you can't change yourself. That will in breach of TM's contract. You should only get what you pay for.

If you post your modem's stats maybe people will be able to help you.

For muffdiver's case, he line is already more than enough for 4mbps but his account is limiting his speed. If you believe TM has set your line accordingly, then go borrow your friend/relative's 4mbps login account to try out.

Your line speed is capped correctly. Account's that not right. Give a call to TM technician and ask him to lend you his HIS account to use temporarily. Say you really in need of it and try to give all sorts of excuses.
