QUOTE(Joseph Hahn @ Apr 23 2011, 12:31 AM) Yeah downloaded that but still in the middle of tweaking other parts of the phone. Will sort that out later. Not bugging me that much. Yup, tried it on my Desire S. Death grip exists. But like you said.... only when you touch certain areas around the camera lens.Added on April 23, 2011, 12:33 amBattery life has been pretty good. Lasted a day with lots of playing around, live wallpaper, hourly sync etc. I wonder how long can it go with my normal usage and some tweaks. Added on April 23, 2011, 12:34 amAlso the wifi death grip does exist. But i really have to try to grip the upper part of the phone in a certain way for the wifi signal bar to drop. Battery wise.... I think it drains slower if compared to an iPhone |

I thought Desire S should have slightly sharper image because although both have the same SLCD, the Incredible S has a larger screen. Same resolution but when packed on to a larger screen(IS) should be less sharp when compared to a smaller screen(DS). No?

QUOTE(crane @ Apr 24 2011, 06:22 PM) Mostly in standby mode, with some sms, youtube for 5 minutes, music on loudpspeaker for around 30 minutes, 20 minutes of light gaming, and 30 minutes of call, by the end of the day(from 10.30am to 12am), I'll get around 65% of battery power left. |

QUOTE(crane @ Apr 24 2011, 08:52 PM) I'm not using a dataplan, so I only switch on the wifi when I'm using the internet. And no, no synching.Charged till it's full the first time I got my phone. Waited for about 3 hours till the notification light turned from orange(charging) to green(full). Then I took it off the charger and started playing with it. Of course, I knew about the whole charge your new hp for 8 hours thingy. But couldn't resist the temptation On the 2nd charge, I purposely used the battery until around 8% was left, then recharged it overnight. So far, the battery's been holding up pretty well. I think it performs better when you drain it low and then recharge it. Read it somewhere online. But I'm using advanced task killer and android manager too. Don't know how much these two apps affect the whole process though |

QUOTE(Saros @ Apr 26 2011, 12:35 PM) No. That's not a shortcut. If you do that, you'll need to adjust the ringer volume back again everytime you set your phone to silent or vibrate.Press the volume down and hold it. It will go to mute, and then to silent (vibrate). There will be an icon showing. You don't have to do all that with the widget. Just one press for silent. |

I'm somewhat divided on the issue regarding task killers
When I first got my DS, one of the first few apps that I installed was an advanced task killer. I used it for about a week. Battery would normally last for about a day. Then I read about how task killers were unnecessary, especially on new phones like ours, with Android 2.3 with a higher amount of RAM. So I uninstalled it. After that, I've been able to squeeze an extra half a day or a full day's use of battery from my DS So now, I get an average 2 days worth of battery time on my DS without a task killer as opposed to a 1 day worth of battery time on my DS when I had a task killer installed Conclusion? You tell me |

QUOTE(rayzel @ May 9 2011, 01:41 PM) Guys, I put it in my pocket on a hot day while I'm driving under the hot sun. Take the DS out.... it's warm. Normal la.Is it normal for the back of the phone to warm up? During regular usgae without using internet.... I was in a call for more than an hour. Take the DS out..... it's warm. Also normal la. Play games on DS for extended periods of time....... Well, you get the idea It's NORMAL. Unless you're telling me that you're charging your DS in an air-conditioned room and your DS is warm for no reason.... |

QUOTE(Logankrishnan @ May 10 2011, 05:03 PM) Is Juice Defender a good apps to control the 'data/wifi on or off' ? e.g only use 'WIFI for data...." ? coz when i disable "Background Data", i couldn't go to Market, getting message "market needs background data enabled".....hm.. this is complicated than i thought.. Enable background data, but below that option, switch off the 'Automatically Sync' option. |
