QUOTE(Dannyl @ May 12 2011, 06:58 PM) Root means you get total access to the phone. Root to do things like remove stock apps, flash ROM, etc. Stock apps are the apps which comes with the official phone firmware, like the Browser, YouTube, Facebook, WisePilot, Creatouch, etc. Oic, thanks man, I am currently trying to root my x10 but I am quite worry about the warranty stuff. I had discovered a software or a method to unroot it but I dont know whether it works or not. Any suggestion? Kinda excited to root it but not really dare to do

QUOTE(abundai @ May 12 2011, 08:54 PM) root will only do u good than bad.. if u ever need to revert back to standard (warranty claim), just do a repair using SEPC.. works evrytime... so far, never heard phone goes kapoot because of root... last i checkk, Z4root doest really work anymore.. but not sure if they hav latest version la.. cos i cannot find any reason to UNRoot yet... How to repair using SEPC? as far as I know SEPC just can update the software to latest version. Lets say I am to root my phone, everyone says that I can restore using Xrecovery, but my question is I had already rooted before installing Xrecovery, how to restore to the unroot version? QUOTE(Ivan113 @ May 14 2011, 02:02 PM) ok now, i've decided to install some custom room, after updating my x10 with SEUS, it is still running very fast, but still, i am curious about custom ROM, have heard u guys talk alot about it here, and now i'll be taking risk to upgrade it, but i heard some of the ROM is unstable or maybe some function is missing, like not working camera, if that so, what is the BEST custom ROM u guys recommend? I hope the custom ROM would be: -able to run everything in what the stock ROM can run -still able to fully use the camera and also the 720p HD options available -everything else pls advise..... I am currently upgrading to froyo 2.2 wolfbreak, my friend said this is the most stable ROM, but if you want GB I guess you should wait the official release first because the current custom ROM for GB has camera not functioning.

QUOTE(tot31 @ May 14 2011, 04:46 PM) If camera is the most important thing for you then stick to the sluggish stock rom. If you want excitement and dare to live on the edge then custom rom is for you....now with the latest custom kernel combine with custom roms out dare, your jaw will drop if compare to stock rom..... Added on May 14, 2011, 3:49 pmplease give detail on what baseband you're on and the steps that you did... I got my friend backed me up d, I am using it d, thanks.

Its kinda embarrassing =.= Good job though, I am looking forward for GB soon!! Added on May 14, 2011, 7:37 pmQUOTE(tot31 @ May 14 2011, 06:49 PM) To use WB's rom with K010 you must on bb52. Here are the steps :- 1. Fresh install the stock rom with SEUS. 2. Root & install xrecovery using flashtool. 4. Flash the X10_52_ChangeBaseband.ftf using flashtool. 5. Reboot into recovery and wipe everything. 6. Install CM_6.1.3_[v006].zip. 7. Install CMFix_v6_v61.zip. 8. Install bb patch cm5bb49.zip. 9. Install 2.6.29.6 FX k010 froyo FXR busybox in xbin v06.zip (get it on the first page of WB's thread. 10. Reboot. Well I dont think that it is just restricted to bb52 as I am using bb54. There is another ROM down there for bb54,55 and 58 user. Another thing is can anyone teach me how to use DPS manager? I dont found the in-call sound gets any improvements. QUOTE(Eugene91 @ May 14 2011, 10:44 PM) You can remove it from Settings>Application>Manage Applications? If not you use Titanium Backup to freeze it. Settings>Application>Manage Applications doesnt seems to be able to move it : ( I will try root explorer as suggested by tot31. Added on May 14, 2011, 9:55 pmQUOTE(tot31 @ May 14 2011, 10:47 PM) You can also use root explorer to remove it. Normally apps are store in syatem/app folder. root explorer is a pay-version software?
