I'm going to wait and see if there's any problem with stock 2.3 when it's released. If there are none, I'm going to get myself an X10. Love the design and the current price

I wanna check with X10 users on stock 2.1 ROM... how good is it? Or, more specifically, how BAD is it? Really laggy? Or just an exaggerated issue? I'm considering getting 2nd-hand X10 now for the 2.3.3 coming soon. My usage: about 20 apps, streaming radio, data plan, some sync like FB, Gmail, calendar, etc., light gaming, web browsing. I think 500MB internal storage is enough for me since I don't keep a lot of apps, and there is no native App2SD. I consider myself a light user. Will I have major problems with 2.1? Thanks a lot!!
EDIT: using Samsung Galaxy Ace now, same price level. Enough for my use, but prefer X10's screen size, processor, RAM and internal storage. Will X10 on 2.1 perform worse or better than Ace on 2.2.1? Thanks. This post has been edited by Dannyl: Apr 21 2011, 01:35 PM |

QUOTE(nothing_nth @ Apr 27 2011, 05:15 PM) LOL... guys, I had stalked this thread quite some time SGS price a few hundred higher than X10. A more suitable comparison is SGSL, at RM1229 now. Design-wise I prefer X10. Other than that... well... why not post at the Android Recommendation section?yet still can't solve my doubts... X10 got really good hardware n price while another thing come to my mind was sgs ~ both nid some tweaking here and there...fyi, Im aint a gamer, I just wanna phone nais for daily use and good camera... but somehow I saw u guys gonna tweak here n there for better performance... this stop me...2.3 confirmed for this phone? Added on April 27, 2011, 7:33 pm QUOTE(vaizard @ Apr 27 2011, 05:56 PM) Streaming radio can. Sky.FM, DI.FM, that kind of thing. This post has been edited by Dannyl: Apr 27 2011, 07:33 PM |

QUOTE(Eugene91 @ Apr 28 2011, 01:23 PM) QUOTE(tot31 @ Apr 28 2011, 01:37 PM) So everything works with Wolfbreak CM6.1.3? Wifi hotspot, etc? Gotta spend an evening and learn how to flash... BTW, how to check Midlands warranty period using IMEI? Could not find Midlands contacts. This post has been edited by Dannyl: Apr 28 2011, 11:38 PM |

QUOTE(tot31 @ Apr 29 2011, 12:04 AM) yup everything works great on Wolfbreak's CM6.1.3 rom, wifi, gps, data 2G/3G, app2sd...the simplest way to root & install xrecovery is by using Flastool 0.2.9.1, you must get this Thanks. Let's say I keep stock firmware, but do all those JIT, xRecovery, root, etc tweak stuff. Will factory reset remove all these? |

QUOTE(mikeeeee @ Apr 29 2011, 06:15 PM) yeah ... workaround works but with a limitation, the connecting device must support adhoc wifi mode to be able to connect to x10. I tried using Barnacle. Started the hotspot, tried using another Android to connect to it, but it could never detect the hotspot. Did I miss something?if native hotspot, any wifi device can connect to x10. QUOTE(mikeeeee @ May 1 2011, 06:38 PM) The stock dialer is not smart Ahh thanks. How about speed dialing? Also not possible? This post has been edited by Dannyl: May 1 2011, 06:47 PM |

QUOTE(mikeeeee @ May 1 2011, 09:15 PM) The problem u facing with barnacle is exactly the limitation I explained earlier. Most android doesn't do ad hoc wifi connection by default. It will need some hack to be able to do ad hoc. Thanks for the explanation. Is this the fix for the said limitation?U try connecting the hotspots with a laptop and see, sure successful. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697168 |

QUOTE(Hayden TKY @ May 6 2011, 05:22 AM) I currently using x10, OS 2.1 from sony ericsson, but I found out that the touchscreen not so sensitive, example is when I wanted to slide from 1page to another page, I must slide to the end then only work, if i slide half or abit it wun turn the page. another example is when i unlock the phone,i need to slide to the 'mute' icon there sometime. Is this call normal?? does anyone face this problem too?? I face it too. But maybe it's the laggy firmware? I tweaked it and it's better now. But sometimes when I scroll, I will still accidentally open an app.Try this: [Tutorial] My easy guide to SPEED-UP a lot X10 with STOCK SE 2.1 ROM - xda-developers EDIT: BTW, what do you guys use to protect your X10? I'm thinking of the Capdase Alumor and the PDAir VX01, but about RM70 each. Maybe just get a cheap mesh cover for the back enough already ![]() http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info....oducts_id=28491 ![]() http://www.capdase.com/en/product5.php?cid...id=920&pid=6836 This post has been edited by Dannyl: May 6 2011, 10:35 AM |

QUOTE(SteamShark @ May 12 2011, 02:08 PM) sorry I am new to android, I have a few questions to ask, what is root? why we have to root? what is stock apps? thanks. Root means you get total access to the phone. Root to do things like remove stock apps, flash ROM, etc. Stock apps are the apps which comes with the official phone firmware, like the Browser, YouTube, Facebook, WisePilot, Creatouch, etc.Added on May 12, 2011, 4:18 pmwhy is it that after I upgrade to 2.1.A.0.435 in X10i there are apps like NeoReader and Postcard that I cant remove it? |

My back button is slightly lower than my Menu and Home buttons. Probably due to all the frequent pressing. Anybody has this problem? Covered by warranty or not?
