Hi guys. I'm trying to fix my friend's X10. It keeps saying no service. I've updated it to 2.1.A.0.435, and factory reset-ed, but it's still not getting any signal. Somehow it started working after restoring nandroid backup and fiddling around.

Also, I've rooted it as per the front page instructions. Everything's fine until I tried installing a custom ROM. the xRecovery version is the one as flashed by FlashTool. I tried to install TMS Chloroform (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1127906) but it went into a boot loop (Sony ericsson boot screen, then screen dims with white LED lit, cycles perpetually).

As of current I have restored the nandroid backup.

Anyone care to enlighten me on the issues I faced? Both the signal issues and bootloop.

The baseband I'm on now is 2.1.54.

Wat are the things I have to look out for when flashing custom ROMs? I'm used to flashing .zips from recovery.
