Hii all the sga users here.. i just bought my sga yesterday.. this is my first time using android hp.

I try to use google search, i found it charge a lot my credit, so i turn off mobile network n try to connect with wifi but i fail. anyone can teach me how to use google search?

what application recommended for english dictionary, games, download song?

I love the camera very much, but too sad it doesn't have front camera.

I wish to explore more on my new hp~

Did you un-select the "Use packet data" and select "Use only 2G networks" under Settings -> Wireless and networks -> Mobile network setting ?

there are more than 1 custom ROM on xda developer.

they say codeROMnexuxace is the best ROM, but i am using villain rom also, gingereal is high demand ROM, but still in beta version....CM7 is 1 of the famous ROM in android world , some 1 developing CM7 on our ace also, but still no sign to release.


i already mention about 4 custom ROM,maybe still got some other i dun know, so...how can you say there are only 1 custom ROM on market???

My SGA facing SOD just now.believe due to switch on wifi for few hours on idle mode.but lucky i can reboot hp without pulling out the battery,keep try long press power button for few times and managed to boot up again, but without proper shut down as some data no saved...

rooting just giving some extra features or administrator functions onto your phone...

So mean's there is still possibility that i will encounter SOD or hang? =(

no phone is perfect it might i think depending on how many apps u have,and how long u leave ur wifi on

I am in a dilemma! Overall is this a good phone?

just try to switch off ur wifi when no in use bcos it happened randomly and depend on ur luck...

today i left my SGA with wifi for few hours and SOD happened...
previously i forgot the switch off wifi when morning, left house and work till 12pm but SGA still working fine...

beside the wifi caused SOD issues, other than that no much complaint if u didnt expect too much from SGA...

ClockWorkMod
this is a very good and very famous recovery mod to backup your sga. beside than backup and restore, this CWM still can make a lot of development, but i dun know all the function.
my friend highly advice me that, use CWM to backup my original stock ROM before i flash it, at least can go back to original ROM if anything goes wrong, but too bad, this version of CWM only support gingerbread, i still continue to flash my sga without backup my stock ROM, i flash this after i flash my sga to KPH. (you can search the other version in xda developer, heard that got froyo supported, but i never try.)

VillainROM
some 1 say this is the most stable ROM till now. you can follow the tutorial below to flash it. i am not sure need to flash to gingerbread 1st b4 flash this ROM or not, since that is few minute job, better flash to KPE or KPH 1st b4 flash this ROM.

CODEROM
a lot of them say this is the best ROM for our sga till now. you can read all comment on this 2 thread, but too bad, this ROM got pre install 'Root Explorer' which not free apps, this ROM consider warez now and remove download link. hopw they will take out the apps and reopen again or you can take from the other user who download b4 the link remove.(i like the CRT animation very very much!!!! only coderom can enable it till now!!!!)

a very famous ROM developer in android world. but..too sad, if you read all comment in this thread, the developer run away because of our rude user keep chasing him. some 1 take over his job, hope will continue to develop this ROM.

a very high Rating ROM developer. they done a very good job on galaxy S ROM, thanks god they are start develop our SGA now. this ROM still in beta version, try it if and only if you know what you do. they are running a very professional testing phase now, many good tester helping on it also.

my experience and advise
i tried KPH and VillainROM(base KPE), both also euro base firmware, chinese character still can not read properly, some character will become square, i guess that is some chinese language package problem in euro firmware. chinese input should be not a issue, you can simply download google pinyin from android market, that is good enough. about setcpu, i tried b4, we only can set max to 800Mhz, but you can set less then it to make battery life longer.
i am using VillainROM now, quite stable, no lag while playing angry bird, but the unlock screen lag still remain, this is the common issue on every ROM. i want to flash coderom actually, because i like the CRT animation on screen lock, but too late to download it. next i will wait for CM7 or gingereal, but i think gingereal is the realistic one(not sure when CM7 release). i think you better wait for gingereal if you not rushing to change a new rom. keep update on xda developer or gingereal official site to follow their release as well as their testing phase.

few thing must remember b4 you start flash any ROM,
1) read all the comment inside the ROM thread, make sure you wont make those mistake that the other user make b4, that is the smart way to avoid unnecessary fail.
2)make sure you phone got at least 80% battery life(better fully charger), your phone will not charging while flashing even you connect your phone to pc via usb, if your battery empty while the flashing process running, your nightmare will start.
3)do factory reset before and after you flash new ROM, this will increase stabilization on new ROM.

a very important thing for all sga user, DUN INSTALL AND USE ROM MANAGER IN ANDROID MARKET, IT WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE EASILY.

Last, you can visit this thread and also some other site for more info about our phone. xda developer is the best site to visit, they are all world class developer.
you can make some comment or request in their thread, but remember, say thanks more than asking them to give you more, they are all volunteer to helping us to develop our phone by free. some question canot be ask in those development thread, e.g. "when will this ROM release?","can you test it 1st?","tired to wait"...... you will get shoot by lot of developer if you ask or make those comment. you can also visit and download our firmware in http://www.samfirmware.com

I got a question here all the sifus. I'd just installed a widget of 2G-3G OnOff. But I couldn't find this widget in the selecting list. Is there any proper synchronization should be done? Thanks.

for any widget u like to put in launcher page,u must move the apps to the phone but not sd card...
try to move the apps to phone then reboot c whether its work....
