Istanbul for sure. Touted as one of the greatest sporting comebacks ever.

1996 - Liverpool 4 - Newcastle 3. Touted by many as possibly the best Premiership game. Kings of the Castle series.

Liverpool 3 - 3 Ac Milan 04/05 Champions league Final Video really make my shed tears. I can feel the passion from the fan and players.

for me, nufc-arsenal match is the best for me....the 4 goals comeback really the best moment this year. from 0-4 to 4-4.

ermm..trying to recall back my old memories.... hmm.gif

not in the order:

1. milan 3 - 3 liverpool - UCL final 2005.. guess no need to explain further... shocking.gif
2. chelsea 4- 2 barca - 2nd round UCL 2005 ... celsi lead 3-0 in something like first 30 minutes... thumbup.gif
3. real M 0 - 3 barca - la liga 2006 (kot)... ronaldinho scored 2 same-pattern solo goal.. rclxms.gif
4. man U 0 - 0 arsenal - final Fa cup 2005... man u totally dominate the game, 1-way traffic from start to finish, ferdinand ruled off-side (which i think he wasnt)...scholes the "un-scorer"... sweat.gif
5. barca 5 - 0 real M - this season la liga
6. milan 3 - 1 juve... seria a season 06.... same halftime score like in istanbul, but not the final result...
7. barca 2 - 1 celsi... 2nd round UCL 05.. barca control the game but celsi manage to lead, thanks to OG from ....(forgot the name)
8. arsenal 0 - 2 chelsea ... EPL 06... start with very fast-tempo, quite hard to brain it (heheh).. arsenal hit the post and got disallowed off-side goal...half- time scoreless. then brilliant goal by both winger robben and joe cole...
9. chelsea 3- 0 man u....EPL 06... seal the title... goal from gallas- short range, joe cole "ayam2kan" rio for 2nd goal.. and counter attack goal from carvalho..

as for UCL 99 final, only watch the highlight (since that time i am still not a football crazie...), but if i were the bayern player surely i will cry (like that botak player). while if i were the milan (in 05) only "termenung jauh " without crying...

In my opinion, what made it such a memorable match wasn't just the manner in which it was won. It was all the other elements that added to the atmosphere. The haunting rendition of YNWA at half time when we were 3-0 down, Maradona and Johan Cruyff - two legends who have played in massive environments paying tribute, the long trek to the Attaturk. All this played a major part.

I may be biased but there was just so much going on, not just on the pitch but off it.

Old Trafford in March 2004. Jose celebrated Francisco Costinha's last-minute equaliser as if he had scored it himself. That goal knocked Manchester United out of the Champions League and Porto went on to victory in the final. Nuff said

Another classic European final off the top of my head is Liverpool's 5-4 triumph over Alaves in the 2001 UEFA Cup. Not often you get a spot kick scoreline in a final.

One other game I can't seem to forget for the wrong reasons is losing to an Eric Cantona goal in the 1996 installment of the FA Cup.

Obviously being a United fan I'll be a little biased in my selection, but the ones that stand out were the Champions League wins in Barcelona (I can still see Ole sliding down the turf in my dreams) and Moscow (the dramatic pk shootout).

Somehow when most readers see the topic title, we wont think of Local football, me included blush.gif But Malaysia 3-0 Indonesia at SNBJ would be in my list, plus Malaysia 1-0 Vietnam for the SEA games the year before. Memorable for me because these games, especially the SEA games final, are the stepping stone to the national team's upgoing battle to glory, and a game which sparks my interest back into the national team.

Of course there are some Man Utd games, like the Moscow final, and the Man Utd 3-2 Aston villa in the 0809 season. Macheda's goal, i couldnt scream any louder. Another one would be Manchester United 6-0 Newcastle United in 2007-2008, Ronaldo's first hattrick for United (before this he always score 1 or 2, never 3 in a game). very emotional game for me, coz everything in that game is perfect.

nice.. of course the sea game gold medal and AFF Final home leg were special in my heart too... another possible special match is a potential my inaugural World Cup Qualifying third round in Singapore this july. i would stop at nothing to attend that match....

Another match close to me was Terengganu 2-1 Perak for our inaugural and only 2001 Malaysia Cup title. The tune of Queen's " We Are The Champion" permanently lodged in my head for 3 days straight..
Probably the best Terengganu side i have seen. Legendary.

for other leagues, need to go back home and think wink.gif

but as arresandro yang berhati nasionalis.. terus bagi idea kat aku abt local football smile.gif

3-0 to indonesia at SNBJ was one of the best final ever for me (in local football qualities ofcourse + i'm part of the 90k.)
*i still save the match at my HDisk, if i boring i will play back the game starting from the laser incident. (i think around 2k alone DIDNT have the chance to watch the game as the stadium was FULL PACK, they can only stand near pagar watching us shouting only.

1-2 to indonesia at bung karno. watched this at Nike Party. ofcourse urban ppl dont watch local football match but the way we(as i'm referring to the so called 'urban' ppl) celebrated the AFF win that time was f*cking memorable. starting from Khairul Fahmi saved the penalty - safee goal... OMMGGG!!just unbelievable. later go home watch all youtube abt the match till 2am.

as for final sea games, shyte that day i got exam paper at 8pm.lucky not serious paper..i tgk sikit2 end up reach the exam hall 10 minutes late hehehe.

local league :

-Sabah vs KL final FA, (my dad drove way back from Malacca to stadium merdeka for this match altho we're not fan for either team)- me still in kindergarten this time

-Sabah vs MBPJ - Final PM - sanbagamaran sent off really change the game
-Sabah vs Selangor -Final PM @ stadium shah alam
-ANY Selangor vs Kelantan for sure hehehehehe

for me (selangor, malaysia & germany supporter)

malaysia:
1) 2009 sea games final (malaysia 1 vietnam 0)
2) 2010 aff cup final 1st & 2nd leg (agg: malaysia 4 indonesia 2)
3) 1986 world cup qualifier: malaysia beat south korea 1-0. as far as i remember, this is the last time malaysian senior team beat south korea senior team in official match

germany:
1) 1996 euro final (germany 2 czech rep 1 - bierhoff scores 2 goals, the 2nd goal is the 1st golden goal in international competition)
2) 1998 group stage (germany 2 yugoslavia 2 - yugoslavia leading 2-0, only for germany to equalize in last 17 minute)
3) 2010 world cup second round (germany 4 england 1)
4) 2010 world cup quarter final (germany 4 argentina 0)

selangor:
1) 1984 malaysia cup final (selangor 3 pahang 1 - pahang lead when suriamoorthy (or sundramoorthy?) scores in 77 minute, and selangor replied with 3 goals in 87,89 and 90 thru azhar shariff and khan hung meng (2)
2) 1986 malaysia cup semi final (singapore 1 selangor 5, selangor beat singapore in their national stadium with 4 goal margin. even malaysian national team at that time can't do that. watch this video, u can see mokhtar dahari and zainal abidin combination. watch mokhtar's goal)

if Malaysian football, is there any match bigger than the 2-1 victory over Korea to qualify for the Olympics in 80?

Yes, that's the match where heroes like James Wong, Hassan Sani were idolized in Maxis' WC ad last year..

i had the privilege to watch the whole match...in black and white on tv...

in those days where football boots were black and white, dominated by either Adidas or Puma, ..the likes of Jamal Nasir, Santokh Singh running .....wow...

i dont remember it's available on local tv

that time only megatv (like astro one) got espn..

i curi2 tgk that time (primary school that time, kenot sleep late hehe)

and yes, it was awesome. the munich players almost celebrate it. huggin each other. shoulder to shoulder. breathtaking

oh yes, argentina vs england WC98! 20 minutes = 4 goals. (correct me if i'm wrong), malaysia official (linesman), beckham sent off, << hate diego simeone at this time.

a must win game. to make things even worse, we are facing against the reigning champions, thailand. they took the lead in the 53th minute and it looks likely that we are going for an early exit again. in the 80th minute, the leftback, nasriq baharom became the unlikely scorer and provide a lifeline for us. deep in the stoppage time, fakri saarani netted the winning goal that we were craving for and rewrite the history rclxms.gif

oh yess the 49 and stop counting...

Sheashy's goal is classy  cool2.gif

wrong match. that match which ended Arsenal 49 games run, United won 2-0 @OT. RVN scored from penalty spot (Rooney dived (?) on Campbell tackle), and injury time 2nd goal from Rooney.

both memorable matches for me..

basically almost all United-Arsenal matches are memorable for me.. esp SF FA Cup 99.

most memorable match for me is when italy and spain got rob from korea in wc 2002 match...

yeah.. though i prefer Korean to win it (as Asian), the referees, linesmen are really terrible.. rclxub.gif

esp Korea-Spain, i never see all dodgy /key decisions going to one side.. rclxub.gif

for other leagues, need to go back home and think wink.gif

but as arresandro yang berhati nasionalis.. terus bagi idea kat aku abt local football smile.gif

*
foreign football ada jugak... my first football match ever is Juventus 1-3 Dortmund - Champions League Final 1997. ... practically bringging me into obsessive world of football..

also Juventus 3-1 Real Madrid for 2003 Champions League semi final..

MyTeam vs Malaysia (under 20?) 2006. Man what a crowd, they are split 50 - 50.

Malaysia beat the overhyped MyTeam 2-1. I call it overhyped because that team is no longer exist right now.

and also Piala Malaysia final 2002, Sabah lost to Selangor's Amri Yahyah Golden Goal. It has sentimental value to me.

Malaysia final against Indonesia...everyone, no matter from which club fans gathered together to support only one team..haha..nice memory..

the match just replaced my all time favourite football match:

i watched this match with my friends (man utd fans) and im the only one who bersorak like crazy..sometimes, it is nice to be the only fan of a club that no one around you is supporting the club..makes you special biggrin.gif

a must win game. to make things even worse, we are facing against the reigning champions, thailand. they took the lead in the 53th minute and it looks likely that we are going for an early exit again. in the 80th minute, the leftback, nasriq baharom became the unlikely scorer and provide a lifeline for us. deep in the stoppage time, fakri saarani netted the winning goal that we were craving for and rewrite the history rclxms.gif

in hindsight... that goal by fakri saarani reaaally2 means a lot... Rajagopal could have easily been dumped from his job due to the failure of qualifying to the second round of Sea games... shocking.gif tongue.gif

...and 4 from Gary Lineker. One match that I never watched but have heard about frequently is the 1978 friendly between Malaysia and England B. The fabled Mokhtar Dahari managed to dribble past half the team before hitting a screamer past Manchester City legend, Joe Corrigan. Don't think the full match was archived unfortunately.
