hey... sorry yea
quite busy today
i assume it to have nvidia optimus as there as intel HD and Nvidia graphic cards on it
around 4 hours + for normal usage
will provide more information by next week tongue.gif

uninstalling those junks program are giving me troubles...
uninstall oberon games will cause other programs to be not functioning well (i.e google chrome)  hmm.gif
*
oh boy.. even on optimus 4 hours + only? i was expecting 5+ or something..

QUOTE(secondrate @ May 13 2011, 07:44 AM)
I do laugh.gif not having to charge my laptop through my classes is a godsend and I still use it after class as I stay on campus for 8-12 hours sometimes.

So far no game problems, except Assassin's Creed Brotherhood but that was easily solved through the nVidia Control Panel by setting the gpu settings.

Added on May 13, 2011, 7:45 am

Might as well do full reformat like I did.
*
yea, more batterylife = less hassle...
anyway, urs is u41sv right? > in your sig..
isit hot when playing games?
since the laptop is quite slim, i have been thinking if the air ventilation cacated or heatsink reduced in size.

4 hours + is considered very good already, especially for a non-U series laptop  nod.gif
Older generations of laptop can hardly survive 3 hours  laugh.gif

Well, I guess if it detects 2 GPUs then it has Optimus  nod.gif
THanks for the heads-up~

Oh ya, I think I might just add into the pricelist whether which Asus laptop has Optimus or not, easier for people to refer too...
So iinm, A43Sv don't have Nvidia Optimus. U31, U41, U43, A53, N53 and N43SL have right?  hmm.gif
How about A43Sj? A42 seires?  hmm.gif
Can sifus please clarify this? thanks thanks  notworthy.gif

im comparing with a43sv which doesnt have optimus and running gt540m all the time.
how come got same battery life. :/

Its not accurate in a sense that it was tested by different people?
Unless we can standardized what's been running on each laptop? We can't be too confident on the results...
The ideal way is to have 1 person owning both the A43 and N43 to test the battery lives out (with the same parameters on both laptops), but that's almost impossible  laugh.gif
I think you shouldn't worry about the battery life that much.. the battery will eventually degrade over time anyway

Ya, its U41SV. The left palm rest gets very warm when gaming. Temperatures are acceptable, kinda like my desktop, in the mid-70s to 80s without a cooling pad.

thx for the info!

thx biggrin.gif
cannot review much now, since i bought it 2 hours ago.. and now still burning recovery disc.. (disc 3 of 5)
Later ill give my thoughts about this laptop.

but for now, id say, I love the keyboard! <3
at first, the non chiclet keyboards draw me back.. but after using the keyboard, i kinda love it lol. the keyboard feels more like dekstop keyboard instead of normal laptop biggrin.gif
its a lil deeper when pressed.
Oh and yeah, B & O speaker is quite nice. id say, pretty good for laptop. but only few hint of bass can be heard.

It has Optimus. thats all for now, imma tell more soon after i played around with this new baby. haha

Wow, Asus sure use a lot of recovery discs haha  laugh.gif
Yeah, I know what you mean about the keyboard.... I was initially rather upset when I tried the N53 laptop's keyboard... the flexes doesn't really inspire confidence  sad.gif
But since the keyboard of the N43 is much smaller, the flexes were less tangible  rclxms.gif
I even like how its non-chiclet style... I think I type much better on it.... the buttons are huge, and makes touch typing easier and more accurate  thumbup.gif
Looking forward to your review bro  notworthy.gif

5 DVDs of recovery, And ALOT of bloatware. Asus is sure a Bloatware-loving company.

Im still collecting data for this laptop . (temp while game, idle etc etc)

I found 1 thing cacated which is e-driver.. before i run edriver, everything works good.. and no lags in game.
but when i run e-driver, the program recomend me to install ATK, and 2 item i cant remember.. not a bloatware for sure.. I thought it was update..
But after i ran the program, my system gone crazy lol.

Atk 0100 not found.
p4g can be run in asus only..
and few more errors show everytime i restart pc..

and i played mw2, happen to have a lot of lagspike. ( on gt540)..

so i restore back to the time where i dint install the e-driver.. everything went back normal >.>
anyone know what causes it? or its simply a bug from e-driver?

Hehe, been busy with my first Android phones, and also my final is around the corner laugh.gif
In the BIOS there is EasyFlash, put the BIOS file in the USB drive or at the root of your hard disk (for example c:\<biosfile>), select the drive and the corresponding file and let it flash by itself

Check for updated wireless driver then, or put the name of the wireless adapter here. Sometime there is a modded driver that allows more advanced setting to play with
*
thx for the ezflash.. i found that mine is latest aready biggrin.gif

wifi : Atheros AR9002WB-1NG Wireless Network Adapter

Im pretty sure i can get it lower, but my dad was in a hurry yesterday. only manage to get 2580.

buy coolermaster notepal u2 instead.. its aluminium and movable fan. rm69 only, and read review that it is very good.
tho, n43sl tak banyak lubang bawah sweat.gif sweat.gif

not yet get a cooler for it...
will source for u2 @ around RM70 then~~ any place you know selling @ RM70?? tongue.gif
yea, not much lubang, any left side is a bit hot... still acceptable compare to previous dell
*
i saw one at Digital Mall. forgot the shop name tongue.gif
left side hotter because the heatsink is at the left side.. n43 is lacking of lubang biggrin.gif
the main lubang is below the palmrest i guess hmm.gif hmm.gif

kinda high  hmm.gif

or maybe coz of my surrounding??? no aircond
*
Oh, ure using A53sv.. Mine is N43sl tongue.gif
maybe because of different design thus different cooling effectivenes. I dont have aircond also, and in a small closed room. without cooler, its around 40-42c at idle.. but increased to 43-48c on lite use. (browsing net, copy files here n there + music) wink.gif
