The Altec Lansing in the A42/K42 series was definitely disappointing.

Back in the day I had a HP dv2713tx with AL speakers. The other offerings on the market were harman/kardon on a Dell and JBL on a Toshiba.

The Altec pair beat out the competition in terms of loudness, clarity and overall response.

The laptop with its speakers maxed out could propagate an entire movie soundtrack through the length of a classroom - very much audibly.

Moving on to my current A42Jr, sigh...
The Altec here just does not do justice to the brand.

The speakers are either bland and lifeless, or honky, echoey and annoying when the volume is turned up.

SRS on or off does not seem to help either.

The Altec speakers on my friend's UL80VT sounds WAY nicer.

For a start, it actually has some midrange response.

juz wondering, are the speakers located on the underside of the laptop?

Not that kind of echoey.
No, the control panel is useless.
If the positioning of the speakers suck, it just continues to suck from there.

No software can append it.

Just bought Asus A43SV Corei7-2630QM, 8GB, 640GB HDD =D

I planned to get N53SV corei7 at start, but I changed my mind after try the keyboard. Really let me down. So I picked my other choice A43SV

A-series don't have Optimus.

Okay, since he has an A53SV, I am rightly confused. Unless it has Optimus, it should display Nvidia.

A53Sv got nVidia Optimus, so it will display Intel HD.
A43Sv don't have nVidia Optimus, so its nVidia..

Asus Backup, Power4Gear, etc?

I even got rid of the camera software. Leaving behind the driver.

1) want to ask what are some programs for:
Asus Vibe
Asus Virtual Camera
WinFlash
and how to uninstall Asus Vibe & WinFlash, not in ccleaner list

2) Media Espresso and Power Director got use? need serial number for it

3) and few of my programs are not functioning:
Cyberlink Powerdvd 10 - press but nothing out
Cyberlink Power2Go - error "The file [Language\\P2GRC.dll] is missing"
both this Cyberlink need pay for using right??

4) and till now my mouse still having issue, tried different mouses and it will suddenly stop functioning after using a while

from device manager, it shows mouse and usb are functioning well, but mouse not working at all
tried 2 sensonic mouse, 1 a4tech
once it stop working, it need to restart so that the mouse can working again

N43SL... yup, mouse not functioning
usb port oki, i tried every port with pendrive etc when the mouse not functioning
maybe mouse got clashes with CSL u1-tf broadband stick... only will not functioning if im using that broadband
if use yes, temporary no this issue

hi guys... im interested in the u41sv... anyone noe if it came with usb3? so hows the built and review for those using this model? actually im finding one with long battery life but am stuck with this u41sv and timelinex.... but worried bout the timelinex build in battery cos i switch on my lappy for long hours and only use battery when im outside... or any other recomendations with the same specs? thx

Guys im thinking of N43SL and Acer 4830TG .. I kinda trust asus more on the reliability but the N43SL graphic is 1GB while acer is 2gb. So dun really know which one yet. what do u guys think ?

1GB/2GB will have virtually no difference in terms of gaming. SBS888G is right, these are average GPUs, so don't expect too much of them can already 
Its best that you don't opt for freebies (as in the ones given by shops, not by manufacturers), opt for more discounts instead since those freebies are crappy haha, spoil very easily...

Prangin Mall would be a better place to find the laptop, I've even saw an Asus N43Sl there
