If they brought just 10 units or so for Onza to PC Fair then not too sure if they will be able to restock (unless they have already stocked-in a lot but only intend to sell 10 units or so per day).

Hmm, any freebies this year?

Lachesis, probably. But blue color, I'm not so sure hmm.gif
this year PC Fair Razer stuff nothing special, no free gift no free thing, absolutely nothing.
in fact, the price is almost the same as those retailers at GS.

Here goes a simple review smile.gif. Please click the image to enlarge it if you want to see a bigger version of the picture tongue.gif.

As i can see from the first thread, there is no review for the Razer Lachesis 5600.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Went to the PC Fair early this morning, 15th of April 2011 Friday, and got myself a Razer Lachesis 5600 for RM259. It's an ambidextrous gaming mouse by Razer. It's categorized under the "Expert" Razer product by Razer themselves. Ok, so here comes the question. Why should i get the new Lachesis 5600 instead of the older Lachesis? Let me list out a few reason:

Reason 1: Lachesis 5600 has up to 5600 DPI comparing to the older version which only has 4000 DPI.
Reason 2: Lachesis 5600 use the latest 3.5G Laser Sensor compared to the older version which uses 3G Laser Sensor.
Reason 3: Lachesis 5600 has 60KB of synapse memory compared to the older version which has only 32KB synapse memory.
Reason 4: Lachesis 5600 has braided cables instead of those normal mouse cables. So what's so good bout braided cables? it wont get tangled!
Reason 5: *This is ONE of the main factor/reason why i get this mouse* It is multi-color! tongue.gif

Ok, at this point people might get a little sick of reading words, so let me bombard you with pictures brows.gif

Let's start off with the packaging.

Attached Image

The front packaging of the box contains some of the feature of the new Razer Lachesis

Attached Image

The left side of the box contains a message from RazerGuy and again, some features of the Lachesis

Attached Image

At the back, you can see the specifications of the mouse and the features along with the Laser Sensor Comparison Chart

Attached Image

Pictures and detailed version of the features

Attached Image

The mouse is viewable through a plastic see through box when u open the cover

Next set would be what's inside the box itself. When you open the box and pull the inner parts out, there are some guide books at the back of the box which is kept inside an envelope.

Attached Image

The envelope which is attach to the box

Attached Image

"For Gamers By Gamers" the famous Razer slogan smile.gif

Attached Image

Flip the envelope over and you will see a slogan "Welcome to the cult of Razer"

Attached Image

From top left -> bottom right, Certificate of Authenticity -> (Top center) Hard Paper note about the Lachesis -> Quick start guide -> (center) sticker -> Master guide -> Product Catalog

Now the real moment that we all are waiting for! Bring out the "Bringer of silent death".

Attached Image

The Lachesis is screaming for help to release it from it's container

Attached Image

After the plastic cover release! Beware of the snake tongue.gif

Attached Image

Finally out of the box. I really love the glossy bottom and matte top!

Attached Image

The braided cables! Really help out a lot. Prevent the mouse cables from getting tangled.

Attached Image

The standard "Gold USB Connector" that can be found in all Razer products

Attached Image

The newly added rubber grip on the silicon makes it nice to scroll!

Attached Image

Backside of the mouse featuring it's power! the 3.5G Laser Sensor

Let's move on to the drivers. Though they didn't provide any CD's so we have to download them through the website. Nonetheless, it's easy to download. And the new drivers for the Lachesis 5600 is a BIG improvement from the old one.

Attached Image

The first thing you will notice when the drivers loads up is the "Assign Buttons" panel where you assign the keys you want and set the profile

Attached Image

The second panel is where you tweak the performance of the mouse like DPI or the polling rate

Attached Image

This is where you create new profile, import or export profile and deleting a profile

Attached Image

The fourth panel is where you assign macros to the mouse. This is where the Razer mouse outsmart other players! tongue.gif

Finally, we have reach the last part of the review and also the most eye-catchy part! The multi-color section!

Attached Image Attached Image

Mixture of teal + midnight blue

Attached Image Attached Image

Purple lachesis looks cool!

Attached Image Attached Image

Feel the elegance of white!

Attached Image Attached Image

Mixture of Red and Orange. Turns out to be really nice!

Attached Image

Dislike the preset colors? You can choose from ANY color you can see in the chart and apply them straight to the mouse!

And thus, i shall now end the picture section. Next up would be my final verdict/conclusion on my thoughts about the mouse.

First of all, holding it in the hand, the Lachesis 5600 feels exactly like my previous Lachesis. However, there are a few significant improvement they did to the mouse. For instance the rubber grip which can be found at the scroll button makes scrolling smoother and nicer. I like the idea of a braided cables, it's tangle-free unlike the previous one i had which always got tangled. You can feel a minor difference between the 3.5G Laser Sensor comparing to the old one. Acceleration and mouse movement seems to be more accurate and stable. And lastly, i like the new version because I do not have to think over and over again on which color i should get. If i dislike blue today, i can easily change it to another color in just a few simple clicks which will take me less than 10 seconds. It gives u a "Brand New Mouse" feeling everyday when you use it tongue.gif. Conclusion, it's worth paying RM259 to get this mouse. People with big hand like me, this is the perfect size mouse for you!

Hope you enjoy this review and stay tuned for more reviews from me. Thank you! smile.gif

You got a lachesis but you still get a newer lachesis, then I would like to ask you 1 question? Did you feel like any different is performance wise?

Can't find any reason for you to get a old gen Lachesis even though you like it so much but not willing to pay extra bucks for newer gen which doesn't really made lot of difference.

Copperhead? why don't consider for any newer model?

The price at PC Fair the same... sweat.gif

I went there this afternoon.

Decided to go (back) to All IT Hypermarket at Digital Mall instead.

Got myself a Razer Mamba and... Razer Ironclad. biggrin.gif (I was popping in and out all week thinking which to get...)

Why Ironclad... I don't know. I just went with my guts. Hopefully things turn out OK. Plan to unbox maybe this weekend when I'm not too busy.

I just could not find Razer BlackWidow Ultimate. It was all the non-Ultimate version.

My first ever gaming mouse+mouse mat.

Congrats on your purchases. Try All IT in IPC (Ikano Power Centre), saw a BW Ultimate there. But to be safe, get from a dealer that goes directly to the supplier, at least you know that there is stock from BW Ultimate thumbup.gif

Stocks are running low for the BlackWidow Ultimate, even when distributor have new stocks, it will be sold out really fast. sweat.gif
