Will be joining you guys soon!, too much poison from you all!  rclxms.gif

Just registered yesterday, they should be contacting me in a week.

Anything that I need to be aware of, or take precaution.

One  problem I see is my wiring, since its concealed, about 10 feet length.  rclxub.gif

Are you upgrading to B.yond or B.yond PVR ?
Make sure you follow after 2 days to ensure the CS did put in your B.yond order.

Without the PVR, I dont think its a necessity to me.

Currently I use my VCR (yes still have it!)  biggrin.gif to record, but lately, just lost interest in recording or finding  time to watch at later stage.

Hence no PVR, if needed, later, I could compromise, I think, reuse my VCR or use my media player to record (maybe).
*
At first I thought I wouldn't need PVR, but still went ahead to get it.
It's great feature to record all on one device. Especially my son loves his Ch. 613 too much.

Thanks for the headsup.

As for PVR, feel its costly, with monthly RM10, and RM300 for the box?

*
Go get the SuperPack 1/2/3 to get all services included like PVR and HD
Now it's RM150 for installation fee for B.yond PVR (usual is RM300 installation fee).

how am i going to subscribe to their superpack? can it be done by doing it on their website?
if we did not do anything to our subcribtion before 11th July, which package are they going to put us to?
*
Call the Astro CS at 1300 82 3838 to upgrade to SuperPack. IF you don't switch to SuperPack, you would pay higher monthly fee only.
A letter would send to your address.
Which decoder type are you using now ?

Thanks for the suggestion, and I do think its a good deal for those who needs it.

Currently, I do only RM79 (with new increase RM89) +20 for HD = rm110, so with the above its RM150 monthly, the difference of RM40, which I dont feel is justified, at the moment, just my POV.
*
Don't fall for the trap of SuperPack.... If you think the channels provided with RM110 is ok, stay with it.

@beebee: B.yond decoder volume cannot be control as the source is digital. You program the B.yond remote to control TV volume as per the B.yond user manual.

i find the astro PVR  very useful and now that i have started using it , can't live without it anymore , except the monthly subscription package for SP3 although loaded with multi channels , hardly view half of the other channel provided .

hope astro can cut RM25 to 50 bucks off SP3 , then its well worth it

anyone hear astro to introduce HD channel for chinese movie anytime soon. the movie PQ on emperor sux
*
Unlikely SuperPack prices is going to be cut further.

Nice to have Chinese HD movie channel....what channel
I also prefer to have AOD in HD too.

hi all

currently i'm using b.yond and interested to subscribe super pack deal
just wanna ask is there any pros and cons between b.yand pvr and b.yond with external hardisk
*
B.yond PVR device (500GB) is lifetime warranty drool.gif drool.gif drool.gif
Having external WD Passport AV doesn't mean you can bring around and plug into other B.yoind decoders.
It won't work, thus what's the point ?

Today i go to astro and wanna upgrade to astro beyond, they show me the superpack package.

Question:
-What type of astro will they given to me astro beyond PvR or just astro beyond?
-The astro guy said no hard disk given so how am i supposed to record then?
-Is there any fee that will be charge?

Got a lot of question i wanna ask but let settle this first, and i got nothing knowledge about this astro beyond since my mom suddenly ask this morning to upgrade the current astro to astro beyond so i wasnt have time to ask here first.
*
Why didn't you ask Astro while you were there ??? rclxub.gif

If you don't ask for PVR, you get normal B.yond decoder, else B.yond PVR decoder + 2 Dual-Output LNB
With the B.yond decoder (w/o PVR), you can buy your own WD Passport AV 320GB harddrive (only this model supported) to do your recording
BUT you cannot watch one show, and record another show.

B.yond PVR requires an installation fee of RM150 (offer until September 2011)

QUOTE(azrin_kiko @ Jul 6 2011, 10:51 AM)
It depends on the situation:

If the SD channel is a letterboxed 16:9 like History, Discovery Channel etc. use LB expand
If the SD channel is in 4:3, use pillarbox
If the SD channel is in 16:9 stretched to 4:3, use fit-to-screen

But the default setting is always pillarbox and adjust accordingly depending on the show's format
*
Can't Astro provide a package which only has all HD channels ?
I would subscribe that only. Let's name it SuperPack HD
