Actually any version of stock ROM is ok to flash, just getting different languages and different bloatwares smile.gif
All are GSM so are compatible

If you used nvflash/smartflash to flash stock ROM, you need to reflash smile.gif

Using new home launcher you need to rearrange and reassign icons and shortcuts, they won't migrate.

Just now went to a LG shop to test out LG Optimus Black.
Very bright, sleek design, smooth UI (even smoother than 2x stock UI)
Every stock apps run smoother than 2x (very noticeable)
I hate why Optimus Black arrived late in Malaysia (LMAO!)
I'd stay with that Stock ROM until it dies thumbup.gif

What I can find on web is LG Stock wallpapers, ringtones, and so on but NO icons.
Maybe you need to find them in root explorer, or maybe extract the stock ROM and find where it is tongue.gif

If not wrong it also called Gesture UI, you press the G button and move the phone it will activate the sensors.
Bo bian.. each phone should have a key selling point, without that G button Gesture UI is not Gesture UI anymore.
But the sleek design pwns o2x in every way, though o2x has a good shape too. (IMHO)

I hope they optimized the Gingerbread to fullest, I don't mind wait for longer for a good ROM smile.gif
I found a custom froyo ROM called Mondego on XDA, it's widely recommended by forumers there and the creator of it it's famous for the custom ROM made for Optimus One, I'm trying it and will make a quick review at tomorrow night wink.gif

Hmm.. hi guys! Mondego Rom didn't work as advertised. Minority of forumers are experiencing unable to boot after shut off and so on. It didn't boot today morning it freaks me out.

There's no "best" baseband IMHO, the important point is to be compatible with your rom and don't have network/signal issues.
