Because Cantonese has more freedom as a language, and not restricted as a tool, but rather an as evolving being, as if language itself was given life. Unlike Mandarin, Cantonese provides more leniency for its words, providing more vocabulary to describe different types of situations and emotions.

QUOTE(phantomkid @ Apr 12 2011, 04:13 PM) Probably that's new (not to say VERY new) but it came after Mandarin. Not arguing that it isn't a language nor does it not have a proper writing system. Mandarin is STANDARDIZED, like ROBOTS.Even Hokkien has 'derived' into many other 'dialects'. Dialect in another dialect. Penang people say "pek mo" (white hair) but around here in KL/Klang, some say "pek meng". Cantonese is NOT, allowing MORE CREATIVITY, like HUMANS. First post edited. QUOTE(eXTaTine @ Apr 12 2011, 04:28 PM) Hello, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien etc. are not languages, they are dialects ok? There's no such thing as "Mandarin" or "Cantonese" or "Hokkien" writing system, there's only Chinese writing. Then you are stupid. Don't you know Hong Kong got their own writing system for Cantonese? There're even words can only be understood if read in Cantonese, if you read it in Mandarin, it wouldn't make sense, but if everyone reads Mandarin, all can understand LOL.This post has been edited by Deadlocks: Apr 12 2011, 10:42 PM |
