Wow, he just confirmed in the press conference. Interesting, Di matteo isn't bad at all.
and another wow, Andre Villas likes to talk a looot. tongue.gif

Added on June 29, 2011, 4:57 pmAnd nice to hear we got a new fitness coach. I see a lot of our players gained weight at the end of the season.
More info http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0...2383341,00.html

and it was really cool to hear this from Andre Villas,
"If I stay in my job after winning no trophies I will be surprised, there is no hiding from that"

ohmy.gif Looks like he got everything ready before joining us.

Added on June 29, 2011, 5:32 pmSeems like he's obsessed about his players in Porto. Journalist asked two questions, first question about his career and second question about his Porto's players, then when he was going to answer them, he forgot what was the first question laugh.gif

I am expecting him to bring one or two Porto players.

SPECIAL ONE! Meh.
It's GROUP ONE!
The Group One: From left, Jose Mario Rocha, Roberto Di Matteo, Andre Villas-Boas, Steve Holland and Daniel Costa line up on the Stamford Bridge pitch

Yeah. Steve Holland is now our Assistant first team coach.
Random, do you guys feel Andre Villas looks quite alike with our owner Roman?
Only Villas looks younger and more handsome icon_idea.gif

No news on Michael Emenalo?
It's really cool that it's not Roman decision or anyone else decision to take Di Matteo, it's Andre himself called him and offer him the job. What a man rclxms.gif

i prefer to have zola instead of matteo.

I gotta agree with mhyug. Zola is a better player while Matteo is a better tactician.Di Matteo is a big legend of us too, no one will forget his FA CUP Final 2000 winner and his 47 seconds 1997 Fa Cup Final's goal too.(Too bad, I didn't know Chelsea that time, I was still a baby blush.gif ) And it's Villas's own decision to hire him as assistant, surely he know what he wants.
When Zola was coaching at West Ham, which is his first coaching team, he never made a huge difference or impressive work with the team.
But if you look at Matteo record, first season at west brom, he bring them to second of championship and promoted to PL.
Although he was sacked in the second season, but he had few famous wins, example, 3-2 at Emirates, 2-2 draw against MU. And many more. It's just unlucky for him to get sacked. But lucky for us maybe? tongue.gif

If I'm not wrong, Andre Villas is now pressing the pause button on our transfer market. He will make the decisions after meeting all the players on 6 July.

u notice the top 10 goal for chelsea has no lampard goal i believe.  thats why we didnt become champion.  we are missing lampards 20 plus goals a season form.

Interesting but yet true. And if you notice, most of the goals come from the first half of the season. In the second half season, we only score from set pieces. We're too slow in open play, I believe that's a major problem for us.

I would actually include Torres's goal in top 10, good through pass by Anelka and what a skill by Torres, Good balance, good composure, even he hit it so well with his left foot, which is his weaker foot.

Neymar saga sounds like coming to the end. 40mil is really too much, if we can get Sanchez, that would be kinda awesome too. Now I start to wonder, will Andre Villas utilize Zhirkov? I believe if we use him properly, he can be the main threat of our attack.

I think there's still place for Alex to play. Terry is not a definite starter now, do you want a brazilians tower?
Alex+Luiz?
For me, it's a really good idea, both can communicate well, they speak same language.

Iva can play either on the right or centre, just depending on our squad injuries. It's really good to have this kind of player in our team.
Sell bosingwa and get a right wing back isn't a bad idea if we stick to play 433. Now we don't know what formation we want to play, so it's all on Andre Villas now.

I don't think Luiz is comfortable on the right neither left. I remember when he was in Benifica, the match against Andre Villas's porto, Luiz played on the left. Luiz was totally kena tapao by Hulk and all 5 goals are coming from Porto right, which is Luiz side.

tapi Alex pny freekick bergetarrrr beb tengok..

Alex's free kick is wonderful to watch. But it isn't every time we can get a free kick on that spot which is comfortable with Alex. It's impossible if Alex normal performance is poor and we just throw him in first XI just for his free kicks. We're not like we don't have any free kick takers anymore.

I am still on Terry. But you know, if his performance is not on the standard, we have to drop him. It's not like HE MUST start every game. If we look back last season, Terry still had a wonderful season. No questions on him for the coming season.

I still prefer Iva in right back. Soooo solid! Who's our right back backup besides Bos and Ferreira? And youth player?

Iva is like a unbreakable wall in right back. I really like him in that place.
Remember how he handle Nani? tongue.gif

I am a huge fan of Luiz, he just have to learn to be calm down. But his every successful tackles are beautiful tackles. He's quick, he's good in the air, he's brilliant on judging the bounce of the ball and he can read opponent game.
And he's only 24! I will kick everyone ass if we just keep him on the bench. I even heard some rumors about we're selling him. Burn all the lazy journalism!

Coentrao is a left back, but can play on right too. But I think the main reason we target him is, he's good looking. laugh.gif

We're a bit too slow on transfer market now, come on!

right hsnd side is not his natural position, he could do really well but truth is he probably didnt like it. for example william gallas. he was a GREAT defender playing for chelsea. mourinho conceded LESS goals when he was around, and after he was sold to get ashley cole we began to concede quite a lot of goals. his natural position is centre but can also playbon the left side, hes great on the left and scored a few goals too but hes unhappy with the position he played.

dont get me wrong, but iva might do just that

Spot on, I am not gonna deny this, it's true.
But what I see, Iva+Terry combination isn't as good as Alex+Terry.

it's day one for Andre Villas to work with the players! Looking forward to see what Andre gonna to say about the players!

Now, I start to worry.
Spurs keep on asking Modric to stay. It's like forcing him to stay now.
Palermo is turning Pastore deal into a joke. 50m, 50m, 50m.
Santos confirm Neymar is staying in Brazil.
MU is getting close with Sneijder.
MCY seems to have wrap up Nasri.
Liverpool got Adam.
Madrid got Coentrao.

And we? Gotta admit, it's kinda worrying now.
