thnx for the reply...i heard there is earpiece problem on dis fon...does it effect new batch fon...? how about the thickness..is it bothering u..? is it hard to type sms coz i'm use to type a lot..sory for the noob question ...not ready yet to use android ...been using e72 for more than a year..

I was worrying for the earpiece problem too,but too bad can't resist it,still die die went to get myself a defy 2 weeks ago. In android,we don't type,we SWYPE 
Yes,you can upgrade to leaked Froyo following the instructions in 1st page,for the factory data reset,you can't downgrade from Froyo to Eclair,for root/unroot,I not sure but you can always unroot your defy with apps easily. For the overclock,yes I think the cpu frequency would be reset to original state 

after reading the 1st page...so in malaysia, dis fon still dun have official froyo n need to root it to get froyo, am i right? i'm confused ...haha...mybe need to wait a little bit more before i buy dis fon ...need to think twice before jumping to android or i juz need to repair my e72 motherboard...

go to application>market>clear data and then you can access market....about wireless, shouldnt be a problem...what else did you really do besides rooting?? you're at 2.1 or Froyo??

network error is due to sometimes no data no wifi connection. as for import contacts, why dont you sync with gmail account? that way, you will forever have the contacts info whenever you flash new ROM or whatever....

CM7 is a custom ROM that is running 2.3. It's short for cyanogenmod version 7. you can try to google for it to understand it more. read the first post on how to install CM7 on your Defy

CM7 battery life is amazing, eclair, froyo no fight

maybe tyenfei has to update the CM7 steps...definitely got change since it's a new bootmenu and also upgrade 2ndinit

cm7 is much easier than flashing ROMs.

well, as long as it works, anything goes...you'll be amazed with how good CM7 is. for me, i resisted a long time not rooting and not flashing to froyo, so i used eclair for like 1.5months, and when i rooted and flashed to liquidarc, it's a huge step in terms of smoothness and speed, and used it probably a month before going to CM7 beta 2.

i can easily say, CM7, despite all the problems and issues, is good enough for me, cos it's fast, great battery life and great 3d support.

so, i say to those new users of DEFY, use the damn eclair for a month, then upgrade to CM7...then after all the bitter, comes the sweet, and the sweet becomes sweeter!!

CM7 is seriously worth more than that, considering the amount of battery you save. it easily trumps a 1ghz phone running froyo, and with the speed motorola releasing the official updates, ice cream sandwich could have come and gone before we even get official gingerbread on our defy

do you have 2ndinit installed now?? once you download it, you must open the app, and install it. once you've done that, reboot your phone, and see if you have the blue led light during the red M...if yes, press vol DOWN, and install CM7 from the custom recovery

if you already installed CM7, then click 2nd-init...if havent install, normal boot

dont worry, red M if you have a custom ROM, so dont bother if you dont have red M, white M also good. as long got blue led, you're ok. press volume down and install CM7, then reboot 2ndinit
