64K? Wooow!!! That is a stone speed provided by U Mobile.

Added on May 22, 2011, 6:38 amLooking for reasonably priced package with big quota.
*
That is how they still can provide "unlimited" services for the package. doh.gif

Anyway, does the free voice calls applicable to landlines? I suppose it is also free right?

Thanks... But i dont understand what does BROADBAND mean...
in terms of performance...
3G voice + Messaging < Broadband < Broadband (21Mbps) < Broadband (42Mbps)  hmm.gif  LIKE THIS ??

so under ANY of these... my outgoing calls (including TO digi/maxis/celc) will be 12sen/min ??
*
Under the Rm28/month package, the calls to any telcos would be free if freebies are available. Even if you are in celcom roaming area.

can anyone explain about roaming? i'm a bit confusing about this thing.. heheh..
*
when you subscribe to an ISP and use its service OUTSIDE the coverage area, it is call roaming. Usually roaming could be used overseas as well if the telco have agreement to share their network to certain subscribers.

there are any extra charge apply?
or in this umobile case, extra charge more than rm28?
*
In overseas roaming usually the bills is shockingly high.

In the U mobile case, as long as the freebies are available, no charges will be made for the calls and sms only although they are being made to other telcos number for now. (no freebies for the MMS under the Rm28 plan)

i dont understand what you mean by freebies...

does it mean the 100min calls & 30 sms?
and WHILE INSIDE the celcom roaming area... the rates are completely same right ?
*
Yeah. As for the normal charging rates, I am not so sure about that.

so uh... under u3G network, what speed you guys get eh?
i just used DIGI's awesome 3g at 384 kbps, fainted

All 3G speed except last two - my home's Wifi

First two on top are EDGE, others are 3G

Digi's speed is not that good, but for me, it is quite consistent and it has the best upload speed among the Malaysian wireless ISP.

I hope that the U mobile network won't be clogged as a result of the RM28/month package.

if you guys are on UM voice, i can say no worries as when there is no UM3G coverage, u will roam on Celcom 2G voice, hence no interruption, even SMS also no problem

BUT if on Internet, where there is no UM3G signal available u will  roam on Celcom Edge/GPRS (Celcom 2G)

overall, its value for money especially on the internet usage, even DG's smart plan is not so "smart" after all  biggrin.gif
*
When roaming, freebies would be deducted if it is still available when making voice calls. rclxms.gif

On RM28 prepaid data plan, if the 500MB quickly used up say, last few days, can we pay for less than another RM28 to get full speed service again?

*
If you think that you gonna use up 500MB very quickly, you should consider about getting RM40 package as it is unlimited quota ald.

QUOTE(lowya @ Jun 28 2011, 10:15 PM)
question: if within a month i use up the free 100mins and top up, will the broadband be extended to two months?
*
Yup, the broadband can auto renew by themselves.

Still not in umobile yet  blush.gif

hmm, when Umobile at Celcom Backbone 2G Network, can we use EDGE? or only voice?
*
I am also not in U mobile and i can check the U Mobile easy menu for more information.

Voice can be used, but EDGE would be dependent on the package. So far, I am a happy user of RM28/month unlimited internet per month.

Not sure about it. While this package allows me to roam, but the other packages like the UM40 might not be able to roam.

It is clearly stated that after the quota has been breached, the speed is 64kbps. The information can be obtained through this PAGE under the FAQs

i hav been using unlimited plan for 1 month+.
i hav been used it in several area and my conclusion is

JB-very good coverage, good download n upload speeds
Serdang- good outdoor coverage but poor indoor coverage. poor upload speed
KL area- good coverage both indoor n outdoor

1 downside is lack of coverage in melaka n seremban highway to jb =.=
*
One of the main drawback of using the U mobile is the coverage issue, but it doesn't matter for me since i am using prepaid internet. I can terminate and activate whenever i want. rclxms.gif

QUOTE(darkcurves @ Jul 13 2011, 05:13 PM)
Should be around same speed as those dial up 56k modem which means really slow, hehehe.

Still good enough for me to surf website in my nokia 5800 and A-GPS with it. tongue.gif
