eh,eye shooting bird,it's 805.

anyway, base on ur rig setup,if some more wanna oc,i suggest u really change ur psu to better one,it is not a reliable psu.

get a 400W pure power strider can do the oc job perfectly.
*
hmm, before changing my psu, got few questions, i suspect my bios lock certain features
cause i couldn't find multiplier settings and i can view but can't change my vcore

few more noob questions wanna ask sweat.gif
where to change fsb:dram ratio?
and i found out something, my proc vcore is not stable, it keeps changing (observed in cpu-z)

edit: read some reviews, it says multiplier for 805D is locked at 20X sweat.gif now the thing i'm most curious is,why my bios doesn't have option for me to change vcore

damn... MSI boards i got no comments cuz i got bad exp wif most of them... even the sc939 K8N-Neo4H also... shakehead.gif

for PD805... OC will require maths skills... for ur RAM... there should be a multiplier instead of ratio... so if 1:1 u set to 2x... cuz it's 2/2=1...
so if u put 3.33x u have to divide 2 to get the DDR frequency... smile.gif

i think u just pointed out another thing i couldn't reach on my mobo sweat.gif
yesterday i found this guide, has anyone tried it? i know it sounds crazy, but i bet there's did that

Wow! This is the first time I've seen a mobo that cannot change vcore. Looks like it's true. Look here : http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=pr...no=170&cat3_no=

Did you try any other software like Rightmark CPU clock?
*
still noob in oc sweat.gif
tried to google after reading your post, don't know how to use the cpuclock utility
b4 this tried to use msi corecentre, it shows N/A there

edit: it shows both in grey for multiplier and vcore, i guess its really locked kao kao sweat.gif

You need to stress your rig to see whether it is stable or not. Some stress programs are Orthos and OCCT.....
OIC, maybe get a new mobo?  laugh.gif

screenshot at 195FSB + superPi 1M. 196FSB seems does not stable, keep restarting.

i saw most of the overclockers will set their multiplier lower unless its locked (example : pentium D 805)

anyway, what kind of cooler you're using? if stock you better don't go further sweat.gif

i'm using DFI blood iron, running E8400 at stock
i use several program to check the temp
at idle, everest shows 52c, but then smart guardian shows 29c only, and the 52c is chipset in smart guardian, real temp showing 48, so which 1 should i believe? cause if its really 52c then i think i gotta remount my hsf edi

normally real temp shud show around 10c lower than everest for core temperature.... smart guardian just show the the temperature of the cpu, not the temperature for the core of the cpu....the core is hotter.....

u shud take readings from real temp as ur guide as its proven to be more accurate....if u are not confident, u can try touch ur heatsink n see if its hot thumbup.gif
*
remounted my hsf, thought its my mounting is the culprit doh.gif

readings from realtemp, core 1 41c, core 2 39c at idle, my hsf noctua
using orthos to stress cpu now, cpu 1 52c, cpu 2 49, readings ok?

sorry, my question will go a bit off topic because i dun wan to open a new thread
my fren is using pentium 4 socket 775, 2x 1gb ddr2 800mhz, gigabyte ep-35 ds3, and zotac 9600GT amp!

apparently there are a few weird things on his pc

1st. His ram is running at 533 only, cpu is running at 3.0ghz with 133x23(which i think the 23 is locked)noob me, his proc is 533 fsb, thats why sweat.gif
2nd. his gc, core speed detected correctly, but memory speed only detected as 1750(using rivatuner, gpu-z couldn't start, no idea why)
3rd. no software can detect the accurate temperature for processor, was using speedfan but not sure how accurate is it(realtemp and coretemp not supported, everest not even showing cpu temp)

hope buddies here can help me rclxub.gif
