davidjun, for ur case. Heat will be a big issue. I'm using xp90 + delta focusflow and I get 47c temp. With stock hsf.......around 60c? and then what ram u using? if u using a ram that cannot stand high fsb, use the divider. But then if u want to overclock ur 2.4c, change the PSU and the hsf. and pengster, 2.4c should run at 200fsb in default. u sure u using a 2.4c? QUOTE(blackangel @ Aug 16 2005, 12:35 PM) change mobo?..exp ler..currently wanna spend on GC only.if wanna OC intel must need extreme cooling lor..saving money for water cooling also. I would say sell it off and get AMD64/sempron-x64. Watercooling not necessary anymore unless for freaking high OC.

QUOTE(F33L3Lik3Hom3 @ Aug 23 2005, 10:32 PM) Well watercooling is necessary if you have a presscott and want to get a high stable overclock. I'm talking about AMD64/sempron-x64.... not the super hot baby presscott.

QUOTE(matkoi @ Aug 26 2005, 10:01 AM) I'm not sure if this is the right section or not.But I just to ask if a Pentium 4 2GHz cooling fan can be use with a Pentium 4 3GHz HT? The original P4 3GHz cooling fan is too noisy and I want to change it to my old P4 2GHz cooling fan which is virtually silence. I would say throw in some money for a better heatsink. Like thermalright, hyper6+, etc. pengster, try check ur bios. There will be divider like 1:1, 6:5, 5:4....

Intel not like AMD unless u with Engineering sample. I believe u really a newbie, Intel multiplier always locked.
u can only raise the fsb if u want to OC.

QUOTE(aad_lfcfn @ Sep 3 2005, 10:46 AM) if i get the best OC mobo.. then what cooling is the best for prescott.. not over than RM 190.. want idle temp at 30"c+ idle temp should be around 40c++ with stock hsf, the idle temp for presscott is around 50c

QUOTE(jasonlim @ Sep 10 2005, 02:08 PM) i m not sure whether i shud ask this question here..anyway,here is the question nw i wanna use a P4 2.4ghz on a mobo which oni support max 2.4ghz..so,can i OC more than 2.4ghz since my mobo cant support higher clock speed anymore? its hard to say. depend on the model u having. let say, those Asus p4p800 which support 400/533/800fsb, can reach 1200fsb after OC.

not really. it depend on your CPU.
eg. some 2.4c can oc to 3.3ghz easily with default vcore some 2.8c can do 3.8ghz easily with default vcore
heard 3.0c isn't that really a good overclocking chip...

QUOTE(sup3rfly @ Sep 17 2005, 01:18 PM) ic.... is vcore affecting the flunctuations it is the motherboard itself. as long as the flunctuations keep at a very small range, it should be safe.

You should be able to squeeze the every potential of the CPU

QUOTE(vailance @ Feb 3 2006, 11:53 PM) thx alot...btw, if i overclocked my ram too much , will the temp of the ram increased and caused my ram rosak? no worry.... because u always control your vdimm. normally if u oc till the limit with a good ram. Mobo will die b4 ram and CPU I partially killed a P4P800 but by 2.8c and BT-D43 still ok. On AI7 now This post has been edited by allenultra: Feb 4 2006, 02:31 PM

I can push to 300*9 with all stock voltage/hsf. Going to push further with better hsf later

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Nov 16 2007, 03:14 PM) I have the same darn cold boot problem. Btw, what Vcore do you guys run at on 3.0-3.2Ghz range? Depend on batch, goldfries' E2140 did 3.2ghz with stock vcore. My E2160 stock vcore max out at 2.9ghz, 3.0ghz at 1.35vcore. 3.2ghz at 1.45vcore. For P35-S3L, its normal that cpu-z show lower vcore than Vbios u set. CoreTEMP should only show ur stock vcore, which I believed to 1.325v

Get the Ultra 120 extreme or IFX-14 or Xigmatek S1283. GeminII not a "great" heatsink but it is cheap though. If not mistaken, u are using E2140, right? Usually E2140 max out around 400fsb, so any cooler that within ur budget can go till 3.2ghz will do. I need something great to help me reach 3.6ghz on my E2160 This post has been edited by allenultra: Nov 20 2007, 12:28 AM
