No he uses his finger..but he poke the screen extremely hard..maybe its becos he is big size..but is the arc screen strong enough?i really scared that the screen will crack..

The Arc uses gapless technology, the glass and display screen is touching. Poking with too much force may mean the force is transferred to the screen beneath .. but not sure if it will cause any harm?

Capacitive screen is meant to me touched with the fleshy part of the finger, not poked.. it does not detect force or pressure (like the old resistive screen)... maybe he is used to phones with resistive screen. You need to educate him smile.gif

my arc is having problems detecting my unifi modem, sometimes it is ok but at times i cant seem to detect the wifi. So far no problem connecting to the wifi with my laptop and ipad.

Common problem for arc? or is it user problem? haha

Change to a faster microsd card. Suggest class 4 and up, even mine class 2 jerking when available space left 2 g.

Restarted the phone second time (after shut off for the night).... and the assigned custom ringtones from SD card still there.

You and any one else with the problem "custom tones from SD card reverting to default after restart" ... try it again after a week or so... maybe it will work like mine biggrin.gif

It's the Japan version Arco... it's thicker because of additional features specific to Japan, like TV receiver, IRDA and Mobile Wallet (something like NFC??)

but their class 10 is cheaper then the market no? So I won't put such high hopes on them lol.

All,
Does anyone have problem with entering chinese text? I see that my Arc come with Chinese TP installed. But I don't know how to make that keyboard appear.

i have also tried installing TouchPal and GoTouch, and I enable them under Setting->Language & Keyboard

but I am still not able to make either TouchPal or GoTouch work.

when typing msg ..
bottom right second button is 'EN' or 'CN' ..
just press it to change input language ..

to change keyboard layout .. go to setting > language keyboard >chinese keyboard > tick the 'swipe to switch layout'

Just long press the white space where your words will appear, a option will pop out, just change
style there
