This is what i posted previously in my early days using the Arc :

I have mentioned previously I couldn't have my Arc wireless working with my home - it can detect but just won't connect to internet. And it disconnect often. So yesterday I tested at 2 cafe - the first one no problem and I'd say is superb ; instant detection and connection to internet was a breeze. Happy proving is not a hardware issue.
At another cafe, faced similar to my home experience, detected but just unable to connect to internet. I asked for help from forumer Omnislash9999 and he told me the Arc is locked to N America channel settings 1 to 11. This means if the router channel settings changes dynamically and is above 11, internet connection is not possible ? This is indeed something new to me. Why did SE locked the wifi channels up to 11 only ? Geez - this is an issue one need consider if you are using outside wifi.
He send me this link which explain : NAmerica limited 1-11 while Japan/Most of the world wireless channels up to 13

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels

So I assume that I couldn't get the internet connection on wifi possibly due to this reason - my router dynamically changes beyond above channel 11. My Galaxy Tab and Incredible S has no such issues on my home wifi network. What I did, I reset my router and Viola !!! - it can work now and no more drop off issues. If this issue of the Arc being limited /locked up to only 11 wifi channels , this is indeed a setback

Hi benny, Arc supports wireless N right? But i tried connect Arc to wireless N access point and i checked at setting -> wireless & network -> wi-fi settings -> under wifi networks - "connected network" the connection speed was 54mbps which is G.

Anyone here can get 300mbps while connected to wireless N access point???

some of wireless N access point has been been set to 54mpbs(G) only because wireless N is not that compatible with most devices.

Yes, you can install app/widget that can show the battery percentage on the homescreen or on the status bar. If you don't install anything, you can still see the battery percentage in the settings.... Settings > About Phone > Status

I installed SIMI clock widget... this widget shows clock, date, weather and battery percentage on the home screen. (it's simple and nice and doesn't drain battery)

Seems Sammy has fixed the two big problems of the SGS (wonky GPS and lagging caused by RFS filesystem). From the SGS II reviews, GPS seems to be good. The filesystem is also EXT4 now.

I'm tempted too. But since Android OS is not fully optimized for dual core yet, and most apps are single threaded, will hold on to the sexy Arc for a few more months before deciding smile.gif
