Hi guys, been reading this forum before decided to make my booking. Booked early March before tsunami and SA promised can get my car earliest in May for white color.

Yesterday got a call from SA and my car will be ready in 2-3 days. Just wondering suddenly there is extra stock or maybe some cancellation from other booking.

But anyway glad that my delivery is not affected by the production stop in Japan.

Will get a 3M tint for my car about RM2K. Still thinking what other accessories to put. not really ready as expecting my car to come in May or Jun.

Happy that I am a Hybrid Owner.

Auto Door Lock

Anybody tried to programme the auto door lock as explained in the manual book page 204. There are 2 types of setting the auto door lock.

1. All door will lock whenever the shift lever is move out of the "P" position.
2. All door lock whenever vehicle reaches 15km/hr.

Just got my insight last Saturday. Still learning the manuals and fuel efficient driving. So far so good. 350Km covered half tank using Shell. No problem reaching 600KM.

Completed my first full tank today. Covered 515 KM. Pump in RM61 for another full tank using Caltex. (Ist was Shell). Learned some driving tips from last week experience. Should cover more mileage for this 2nd one.

Today was raining and turned on the rear wiper. Noticed that the wiper only able to wipe the left hand side only and leaving some portion at the right hand side not wiped. (Blade is short and the screen structure making it not able to be installed with longer blade).
Feel a bit odd. But automode of the wiper is working fine.

tat i not sure if government tax in consist of period within the booking and only when you get the car, i.e. book now, car will be sold at 98k for you, if gov announce no more tax exemption, means it wont be 98k or. the new booking do not get 98k
wow.... u booked on dec and not yet get NOW? i guess i better dun play the dice, thinking of just put the booking anyway and let it roll as long as it wants to come... 8 months or 1 year if half way cant wait, will tell em, olrite gimme a civic, deal.  laugh.gif at the same time really got a adrenaline rush to get a RED prius... oh gosh, this tsunami really make me has to change lots of planssss

I thought that the government only approved 4500 APs for the zero tax Hybrid for Honda Insight (98K). (Lexus Ct200 is 800 APs only) or delivery in 2011 or which one come first. But hopefully the zero tax incentive will be extended to next year.

I booked mine 1st week on March 2011 and suddenly got my car on the 2nd week on April (was promised delivery in July). The SA never offer me any discount early but on the day he delivered the car and finalized everything, he offered me RM500 discount. A bit surprise.

Love this car. A very good buy indeed.

Ron 97 increased to RM2.90. Although not using Ron 97 but it is a good decision to get a Hybrid car. With this rate Ron 95 may increase too in future.

Some people recommended that we should pump and use Ron 97 at least once a month to clean up the engine. Not sure how true.

Just had my first service at Sg Pinang SC Penang. Made appointment for service at 3 PM and took just 30 minutes. Just normal checking, nothing changed.

My 2nd full tank load of petrol will probably take me to some 600 KM. Now less than 3/4 empty and already clock 500KM ++. No problem for another 100 KM with the remaining fuel. tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

it's definitely too soft. it's almost useless... horn angrily and nobody pays attention (unlike my old Hella Twin Tone).

i'm changing my car horn soon - just bought Hella SuperTone from Amazon, and will put that in when it arrives. 118db of powerrr. that one if horn, sure the kapchai motorbike fellas in front will get heart attack biggrin.gif

all hail Hella. king of horns!  notworthy.gif

Hey guys, does anyone have this problem? At the back of the car in the boot there is the thing that we pull to cover the boot.  Mine keeps making a sound everytime I break even at low speeds.  Tried adjusting it but its fits snug.  Do you think that I need to get it changed.  Car is still brand new I can complain to my honda dealer.  Anyone with the same problem?
*
Yes, I have the same sound problem too. Just adjust a bit here there then the sound gone. The piece is a bit loose.

So far there are few issues involving sound in this Insight after 2 weeks of driving.

1. We can hear the electric motor if I totally silence the radio etc. Tekan and when motor running, I can hear the motor (Soft but can tell its the motor, but when switch on radio cant hear any sound)

2. The sound of the piece at the rear boot. (The piece like the one we put toilet roll - sound if yours is loose)

3. Steering sometimes will have squeeking sound. Like having not enough lubricant when car vibrate or when turning especially in hot weather. Sound like something very tight and not loose enough to turn.

4. Sound of the horn too soft.

5. Sound system so so but hope for better. he he

Another discovery of the Audio, playing in MP3 via USB Drive

When pressed title, I got this :

[attachmentid=2201357]

Pardon me on the dusty surface and a bit poor Camera Phone....  tongue.gif

If title in alphabet ok. If in Chinese or non alphabet, those -------- will appear. Some players out there will even read chinese character. Too bad the unit assembled in Japan and not able to read east asian character. Maybe for Southeast Asia spec Honda putting a more cheaper players and some other cheaper assesories or gadgets. whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif

You have 2 button to do this.

1. The one at the odometer. press once to change A/B or todate. Press long to reset.

2. There is another button to press below the Information Button at the steering wheel. Press A to B and to date. press long to reset. Find at the steering wheel below the Information button.

Got my ICE upgraded over wkend. Quite painful seeing all the speakers/rubber seals/floor mats ripped out... but the end result is so damn good smile.gif

Some pics of the "operation"...

Door strips ripped out, exposing the bare chassis:

Installing 4-channel amp under front passenger seat (have to rip out the front passenger seat 1st.. ouch!):

A few hrs later, after doing proper cable management and arranging all wires neatly/tying them in. The seat fits perfectly on top:

My sound system sounds so so much better than stock ones. The mid-range is superb... especially with our IN2 quiet interior when cruising... ahh.. nice. Just had to add some soundproofing material to the door areas where speaker is mounted, so the speaker won't rattle against the bare chassis esp when playing State of Trance 2011 smile.gif

When free, will post up photos of the stock speakers (it really looks like crap when you take it out - no wonder it sounds like crap haha).

Mind share where you do this bro. I'm in Penang too.
