just to share a forum from autoworld.com.my on honda insight.
many positive and negative comments in there.

http://forum.autoworld.com.my/index.php?sh...ic=96790&st=240
after reading the comments from auto world forum, this got me thinking, should I cancel my booking? is kinda scary seems like so many ppl dislike it and what insight is achieving, allot of cars can achieved too. so.......
sigh.....
*
From my interpretation on the comments in autoworld, majority of the commentor are not Insight owners and their comments are quite blunt with no actual facts.

There are comments that Insight is not for those who want to save money!?
If want to save money, drive DIESEL car. Haha..

Ultimately, check with Insight owner, and ask them the FC and how much it save their money.
My ride FC is approximately 18-20km/l, which I dun think City, Vios, Civic, Altis can deliver. Correct me if Im wrong.

Just did 5k service.
Latest FC calculation as below:

Full Tank RM62 - Ron95 shell
Milleage Range show 790km but actual milleage used is 670km (until 20km remaining).

Econ Mode ON.
50-50 hiway and city drive

Gulp ..thats good FC dude. I could only clock 510km and cost RM62 Esso RON95 to fill up. 90% city 10% highway.
But then I am still happy coz its way better than MyVi that average 300km RM60!
*
which cost approximately RM0.12 per km... which is consider good if you ask me, in view of 90% city drive with consideration of traffic jam and auto idle stop which will consume only petrol.

There was once on my outstation trip, reset my trip km/l, managed to get 22km/l from KL to Ipoh. Only RM0.08 per km. Econ mode On with 110km/h. Play around with Auto Cruise, when down slope, maintain auto cruise and when up hill, will cancel the auto cruise with mild acceleration.

Added on May 26, 2011, 1:24 pmMy previous Civic EK Sedan, RM50 fuel could only last for 320km.
With Insight, RM62 could last for 670km.

You do the math.

very precise summary... it says it all!

By the way, my SA told me in his HC alone, they receive approximately 50 car stolen cases in a month now, particularly Honda City and Civic.
Hope fully honda Insight will not in thief list, since the demand is over supply now.

when i go test drive the insight, i was so gentle to the car. i keep on looking at the speedo meter n trying to get green color...

until go back to the show room, forget to test the car power >.<
*
haha...
I remembered when I test drive, I floor the pedal until the SA told me...be safe be safe! haha
That's why I bought it as in the beginning, I thought 1.3cc is under power.

my FC is very similar to yours...regardless how much green I've tried to maintain, it won't go above 600km per full tank...are my driving skills really that bad??  cry.gif
*
try to maintain speed in between 50-60km/h for entire drive for full tank.
Your milleage will shoot up to 800km plus per tank. I've tried that for a while but give up as I am getting pissed off from the other drivers behind me who keep flashing light or honk.

Same for Prius, they claimed on 38km/l FC which is achieveable but you must drive under certain conditions.

Lol because it wasn't crystallined yet when passenger complained.

They complained mostly when aircon auto-stop at traffic light. This is how I answer them:

"oh well this is avoidable by putting to P gear. But I purposely let the engine auto-stop, so that you all won't keep asking me to drive you guys out for lunch  I gotnused to the heat already. smile.gif"

Haha, anyway, in a joking way.
*
That's a very very good way to stop my colleagues from asking me to fetch them out for lunch as well lol!!
Coz since i got the car, most of my colleagues 1 by 1 asking me to fetch them coz apparently they said wanna sit in my new car!!

Yesterday Range shown 494 after curising 226km. Meaning in total, approx 720km for full tank.

But I speed 130-150km/h this morning all the way to KL and back to PJ. The total range has dropped tremendously. Total range down to 622km. Cruised 322km and remaining 300km.

Wah so late? My SA said July/Aug can get. Other SA said Sept/Oct .. Another one said 6 months.. So I'm quite confuse why so different .. Not so rush. I still have my old car..
*
I believe the waiting period differ from branch to branch as it depends on each individual waiting list.
I believe the outskirt branch waiting list will be veen shorter.

At the end of the day, it really depends on the reproduction in Japan. Like some bros' advise, if you need it urgently, better opt for different models.

Yes, I do feel the creep aid system is not really working well. It slope a few inches before moving forward and it make me panic and the car behind u as well.
*
i do have problem with this sometimes.
during auto stop on uphill condition, once I released the brake, the car will roll back for 1sec, make me sweat for nothing. that is why now i will pull hand brake at the same time pressing on the brake. just in case

U meant follow the dome light? It can be done. smile.gif

sorry if this question has been asked b4, in order to install the footlight, do we need to remove the lower part of dashboard during the installation?

As for the side door step garnish, will the Honda centre install/stick for FOC?
I was told that the Honda centre will charge RM80 for labour fee...just to fix the doorstep garnish!
