QUOTE(WyjSwmW @ Jun 11 2011, 10:03 PM) Anyone filled-up the white card "numbers of days to stay in SG" as 14 days but actually stay till 30 days only leave SG...? why take the risk, just cross to jb shoppin, then get a fresh white card when coming back. Are there any consequences since the max stay is 30 days? i change at city square jb near to maybank, change and bank in straight hehe Added on June 14, 2011, 11:23 pm QUOTE(seantang @ Jun 14 2011, 09:56 PM) Depends on what you mean by prospects and what you consider bright. wow i guess, admin got bright prospect On the whole though... admin is admin. It's a lot of well... admin work. How complicated or valued can it be? The highest paid admin person I know is our SG site manager. She manages the facilities, EH&S, security, admin services (eg. secretaries, despatch, cleaners, tea ladies, pantry etc) and has to know how to do everything from purchasing to public relations to negotiating rental with landlord and negotiating OHQ extension with EDB. Not an easy job, 14 hour days, Blackberry never stops beeping but her salary's around $12-13K including a car allowance. This post has been edited by ivanswk: Jun 14 2011, 11:23 PM |

QUOTE(crapp0 @ Jun 15 2011, 04:32 PM) 10K salary aint luxury, i know a couple of fellas who earn around that figure and they live modestly since their not very materialistic and dont have the need to buy branded goods such as every tom, d*** and harry in singapore toting a LV bag. profound and glad you willing to share your plan, so you getting one at the moment ?Added on June 15, 2011, 4:39 pm Get a MBA? Added on June 15, 2011, 4:50 pm QUOTE(seantang @ Jun 15 2011, 04:45 PM) 10K in Singapore will get you a lot of iPhones, HDTVs, clothes, nice restaurants etc... but in terms of luxury condos and luxury cars... not really. You'll be able to afford a nice HDB but you won't qualify to buy one because your income is too high. But $1million+ condos are not really within your reach either, without taking out a huge loan and tying all your savings and future income in Singapore. A cheap little runabout like a Suzuki Swift or Vios is affordable, but not a real luxury car like a Beemer or Merc. The 10K earners are some of the 'sandwiched class' that politicians keep referring to. Technically they should be able to afford the good life and are taxed as such, but realistically they are neither here nor there. so 10k is good or not, i am getting confused, neither here not there mean i need to be higher or lower to really reap all the benefit singapore have to offer, i just notice u from ipoh too This post has been edited by ivanswk: Jun 15 2011, 04:50 PM |

QUOTE(seantang @ Jun 15 2011, 04:54 PM) 10K is better than 2K. That's a no brainer. But it's not as good as some people think. my logic is quite straight line, confuse then ask loh How would earning a lower salary in Singapore reap more benefit than earning a higher salary? I'm confused how your logic works. i am enlighten again heheh |

Therefore, Punggol and Sengkang area would be slightly too off for me. Yup, I'm looking into Boon Keng, but whenever I google Boon Keng room for rent, it'll lead me to Kallang =.=''' Added on June 15, 2011, 5:31 pm QUOTE(deodorant @ Jun 15 2011, 05:28 PM) one of my colleagues said that geylang got "code" one, the lorong number will roughly correspond to (1) whether got ayam or not and (2) what country the girls are from ... haha! u my fren, have my respect, cause so far u have use a real life experiance to convince me, and u know i buy this kind of thing. was during dinner at the beef noodle & frog leg porridge place that he said that @yinyum/ivan: not so hard to plan one. within your industry/company/job scope, you look upwards you will also know agak agak how high you need to climb in order to achieve your target $$. so the question then is just building whatever needed education, qualifications, certifications, experience, and skills so that you can rise to that target. example i'm currently sort of a hybrid IT/projects/finance line. in order to sit in my boss place, i need experience in running projects and some sort of formal qualification - either PMP or MBA in Proj Mgmt. The former will come naturally in my current role, the latter I need to plan with regards to sacrificing time & money & effort to get that qualification. Then after that it's a matter of looking for opportunities, whether it's within the same company or elsewhere. This post has been edited by ivanswk: Jun 15 2011, 05:31 PM |
