the concept is similar. however a fully conceal ss tank will not provide any water flow. also i am not sure if the normal s/s tank would be able withstand a pipe pressure, not that you can pressurise it to begin with. if you fill it there is no air pressing the water out. this why for such cases you use a pressurised tank. if i just close the air release i will have the stale water in the tank without it providing any buffer for pressure variation etc. its just standing somewhere.
*
The incoming will force the water to go out when someone open the water tap, and when the inlet are off, the pressure will be stable no water out.

It shouldn't be an issu with having a pressure booster pump running along a water heater built in pump. The only matter is that since the volume of water is greater than what the heating element can heat, it will not be warm enough smile.gif
Otherwise, have a blast!!

It maybe have problem with the pressure build up may damage the internal parts. If they put the warning it must have its reason.

The sales guy got demo and explain to me.
The pump with air tank will not start immediately once you use water. It only start 30 - 60 sec after turn on ur water tab. n feel less vibration.
The pump without air tank will start immediately once you use water. n feel more vibration. (pump will turn on even u just wash hand for 2 sec)

So I get the pump with air tank.

By the way, we need to pump in air to maintain the pressure (psi) of the air tank yearly. (If no more air in tank...then ur pump will rosak)

Hope this info helps u...
*
Don't know if it will damage after the air tank left empty. But It do need refill. Read on some blog you can use bicycle tires pump to do that, since I don't own the air pressurized tank before can't confirm. Alternative ask service personal to come over and refill.

In my usage scenario, this type of tank don't suite me. Because I always shutdown the pump, and release some pressure before I leave for work or long vacation. This way I don't have to always replace the flexi hose e.g. bidet hose.

I don't think it will make any difference the pressure will still remain because you have the air tank.

ok, so i have 3 bathrooms, all 3 with joven instant water heater with DC pump.

1 of the bathroom has rain shower set that comes along with the instant water heater, the other 2 is just simple.

basically i want a water pump because my whole house water pressure is low.
*
Check your joven water heater, some model don't support external pump. My mom house using a Joven now, and have warning on the box do not use external pump.

Also if you have external pump, your instant water heater will not able to heat the water fast enough especially on rainy day.

I always thought Grundfos is best pump coz can be seen selling everywhere. After i installed it, it is very good. Best water pressure. But recently after almost a year the pump now create a lot of noise. The pump On and Off every 2 mins even nobody open any water tap. I then call the Grundfos service personnel for checking. He told me nothing wrong with his pump and also prove to me that he turned off all water flowing point at all toilet and it didn't create any ON or OFF sound. I noticed each toilet has a water stopping cork and there is water dripping out as i turn it on. He told me possibly it is the dripping that coz the ON and OFF sound every 2mins. He told me to get it replace and see how later on. He suspect must be somewhere leaking that coz the sound. And i was charged Rm150 for advice because nothing wrong with the pump. After the technician left, i turn it ON slowly by not turning ON the pump, the water drip out few drops. Then as i ON the pump, the water drip out still few drops when. But if i turn the pump ON and then turn the cork, i can see a lot of water flowing out from the cork.

Now i have come across this forum and i suspect the pump really got problem like some discuss here with motherboard faulty. One of the former wrote down here saying he paid almost Rm500 to it repair.

Whoever have come across here i advised him or her not to buy this brand as it is not only costly but not durable at all. Their service some more expensive. When buying pump be extra cautious on the power. I think for a double storey house get anything below 3 bar psi.

Anybody who has come across this ON and OFF problem please give advise.
*
If the problem not due to pump is right to charge services even the pump is under warranty.

Fix your house leaking problem first. The leaking will cause your pump to switch on and off. This is normal because your pump are activated by water pressure.

If you want to know your house got any leaking is easy. Dont use any water, waiy 1 hour ir more, Record your water meter reading, don't use water for whole afternoon check your water meter reading and compare.

when i turn on the faucet, the starting pressure is low and delay for 1 second then after that water pump pressure come in, by the way my friend has CH4-40PC, the pressure come in immediately once i turn on the faucet but why mine unit has the problem of delaying for 1 second ? Is that a normal case for grundfos cm3-5pm1 ?
*
Did you switch off the pump when not use?

Yes, i switch off when i am traveling or away from home for few days.
*
If you switch off the pump, and when first time use the water after someday the pressure will still remain high, if low very likely you have a leakage. But i you have the habit like me than is ok, I switch off everyday, and use normal pressure water to washing bottles (to release the water pressure). I do this because the pump pressure very often burst the flexi pipe in my house.

when nobody is using the water, the pump is not running and quite for whole day. besides that, i do not spot any wet water mark. The initial pressure dropped instantly even i just turn off the faucet and turn on again.  hmm.gif

My pump if didn't off the main switch, the water tap will have slight drop in pressure before the pump kick in. How much pressure it drop on your?

Oh, maybe let me clarify. There are water outflow from the tank to the same outlets on daily basis. Just that the booster pump isn't turned on everyday. The water has always been clear during normal usage until the booster pump is turned on, then there will be a gush of brownish water. Why ar ?
*
If old piping, mean they are some rust build up.

Another reason, your water tank may have sediment already. Don't forget our incoming from syabas not clean

There are new pipings ley, hmmm

Oh! So if it's sediments , u mean when the booster pump is turned on, it will stir and disturbed the sediments ?
*
Everything new including tank? And you have any filter after the meter? If you have sand filter do expect to have some sediment to pass. If you experience the earlier water rationing you will know how efficient the sand are.

My piping are new, and using old tank (washed) before I move in. I don't have such problem. Using 3m filters for outdoor and indoor.

Im of the view that it's the same pipe all the way to tangki. I need to see if there is way I can dig the ground to verify it haha

But what I'm sure is that in the bathrooms, it's the black pipe that's embedded. I know because I had the wall hacked and saw it
*
If you already have pump why you do a bypass?

When pump switch on, the suction power will be higher therefore wider area water in the tank will bebsuck out.

You sure the brownies water from the pump pipe/pump and not from the direct pump?

I don't have such issue even I left the water unused for a week (when going holiday)

Guys,
I have a grundfos cm 3-5pm1 installed 1 year ago and just yesterday I noticed the pump runs every 1 minute for 3 seconds constantly.

Normally it would only run if any of the taps are on. And I checked the whole house and all taps are closed and no leaks detected.

What seems to be the problem ah?

Sound you have leaking

asking specialist , its it better to on the pump all the time or on it when using. Thanks
*
If your with the Air reservoir, is better leave it on. Without the reservoir is ok to switch it off.

Mine are without, and switch it on only when want to take bath. With this practice, my hose last longer (bidet hose) and also the flexi hose under the basin & WC.

Thank you for the reply.
The pump is hot when I touch it and today there is a small leak at the connection but when I off the pump and on it back the leak stops. The overpressure may have caused the leak.
Who should I contact then. Not all plumber knows about water pump.
My option is to seek feedback from the bigger hardware shop that sells grundfos pump but they may ask to replace the pump instead.
TQ.

Plumber is just plumber at most they can take it out for you and send it to repair. They cannot repair for you.

If you piping have a bypass setup incase pump need to remove is easier. Else your plumber need to do the bypass for you.

Is better you switch it off if not using, running pump non stop may cause pump overheat, house piping crack.

Boss,

Need a good pump for my 3 storey with 7 bathrooms. Actually all the bathroom equipped with water heater with pump already. So honestly do I still need your pump?

Thanks.

Centralized pump flow will be too strong for instance water heater, you won't get hot water especially during rainy season.

Some instant water heater also state the max pressure it can handle in the instruction manual.
