My advice to shadowlove and ogiveyakuza is get a cheap data plan as you still have to enable your data network sometimes as you have to update your apps. Get a cheap prepaid like Umobile as for RM30 it give you one month unlimited data + 100 min free calls (all network) + 30 sms (all network). Also it will give free call for one month (umobile to umobile)

QUOTE(sharkz07 @ Sep 23 2011, 03:06 AM) hi i'm a galaxy s plus user.why when i check task manager my ram only got 358mb instead of 512mb.is it the remaining mb are used by the android os? Yes., it's normal. A lot of system app running in the background. As long you're not low on ram, just let it be. Android will clear the ram when the need arise.QUOTE(Awakened_Angel @ Sep 23 2011, 06:50 AM) There's no need to use any task killer. Froyo and Gingerbread can manage the ram by itself. Most of the app that you kill will open up again and again thus make your phone lag and use battery. You kill roque app only and not the system app. Task killer meant for Enclair and Doughnut since both of the older version not good at managing ram. This post has been edited by waveweaver: Sep 23 2011, 09:25 AM |

QUOTE(zuhair93 @ Apr 3 2012, 06:52 AM) First of all you must have Maybank ATM card with Visa logo.If dont have then apply for one so you can convert the ATM card into Visa debit card. Go to the bank and ask them to convert your ATM card into Visa debit card. Then ask them to activate you online shopping account. By now you can use your card as ATM and debit card plus it can be use when you go online shopping including buying apps from google store. |

QUOTE(shirley_andy @ Apr 4 2012, 05:30 PM) is it advised to shut down/kill running apps that I'm not using? to save memory and battery? or just let it run in background? If you're using Gingerbread then there's no need to use task killer. Your phone will manage its own RAM. Just make sure you close any un-used apps properly. |

QUOTE(river.sand @ Apr 9 2012, 08:49 AM) AP set - you probably will see the logo of carrier, e.g. Orange, AT&T. I don't know about other phones but for SGSII as long at it model number is GT-I9100 then it has the same spec..hardware and software. Doesn't matter whether it's an AP set or ori SME set. The different is ONLY the warranty. From what I know, American carriers often modify the firmware of the phones. For example, they disable the tethering function. Users must pay a fee to activate it. Problem is known when you buy the phone (SGSII) with a prefix at the last of the model number such as GT-I9100G or T or whatever else. In this case you better read the spec carefully as some of them have different spec compared to the international version. |

QUOTE(infernoaswen @ Apr 29 2012, 08:01 PM) Guys everytime i switch app from browser to another app i know the browser runs in background right? Is there any app that will automatically force close the browser rather than me manually killing it? What phone are you using. As far as i know Android stock browser had to be manually closed as it doesn't have exit features. You can try using 3rd party browser like Xscope or Maxthon where both got exit button. Also even if i force close it, then next time i open it, it will automatically load my last visited web page....is there a way i can make it not to remember my history? or just automatically load google & close all the previous tabs? |

If you're using Samsung phone then you can use Task Manager app or Aplication monitor widget to close you browser.

Use Addon detector app. It will show you which app is responsible in sending push notification to your phone. Un-install that said app.
