Hello all, I'm a newb when it comes to phones. SO i have this silly question that i want to ask.

I bought a CSL Mi-320 recently. It comes with gps, but it just wouldn't work! When i open the 'Maps' app, my location can be detected if I have Wifi. But what if when I'm driving and i have no data plan? does that mean i can't use GPS at all?

I asked the seller, he told me to add RM60 to add an offline GPS. I feel like i got conned for buying a phone without a working offline GPS. Please help me. I really need to use GPS and paying RM60 is a little ridiculous considering I bought the phone for RM4XX

To be able to use GPS you must have a GPS satellite receiver software installed. Your seller is charging you RM60 for that. Maps uses signals from wifi and not from satellite and therefore you cannot use it on the road.

If you do not want to pay for the offline GPS, google and you will find.

Did it detect 7 satellites or really lock on to 7 satellites?  It locks on when there's a positive number in Accuracy.  Then exit GPS Test, start Papago, it should be good to go.  Under Locations, you can check 'Use wireless networks' if you have a data plan, it will use data to locate the satellites and lock on faster.

Download and install FasterFix and change the satellite server to asia.pool.ntp.org and you will lock into satellite under 30s in open sky. Install GPS Status and Tools to check the lock in status. Once locked in exit GPS Status and run your GPS software.

Having been doing this and on average locked into satellite in under 30s.
