Is the rooting way is same to all android platform smartphone?

can i know what's the purpose of flasing the rom?
will flashing affect phone warranty?
can it unflash just like unroot?

Does overclock affect warranty or the system?

once memory card is inserted into phone
it can be used straightly what?
can anyone explain to me why app2sd is needed?

Thank you smile.gif
*
Not the same.
Custom roms usually more optimized. better performance, battery life etc
If you burn your cpu when you OC i doubt the warranty covers it just like when you OC your own desktop.
Yes can straight use.
apps2sd is needed because some phones have low internal memory. apps2sd allows you to install apps onto the SD card so that your phone memory will not be eaten up.

And all the answers to these questions could have been found if you did a little searching. wink.gif

setcpu is stable? i mean after u apply u wont crash your phone etc.
*
as long as you don't OC too much. Depends on what kernel your phone is using also and luck. Some phones can OC more some can't even tho both is Samsung/HTC.
Its generally stable. I personally just use it to lower the cpu clock when screen is off for more battery flex.gif

but i was found i can't upload the picture that i wan all at once to upload
only can upload 1 by 1
and how to copy the picture that i use my phone capture to computer so i can use computer to upload ??

What phone are you using? Just use the fb app? If want to copy to computer just plug it into the com and transfer the pics out just like any usb storage. go to settings and enable usb debugging first.

hi guys... after i posted the last post. i tried updating my PC Companion.
i didn't install the new PC companion for X8 and i had the old PC Companion.
after i did that and i tried to root my X8, i was able to do it!!!!

problem solved.

so, for those newbies who are going to root their android... please make sure the PC Companion is installed first, make sure you are using Windows 7(if XP, need to install .net framework i think) and also make sure USB debugging is enabled.... confirm can root easily.

Added on June 26, 2011, 11:08 pmthe next issue that i am facing now is how to partittion my SD card as the app2sd is asking me to have partitons and it had to be primary. anyone care to explain and assist me?
*
Download rom manager and use it to partition your sd card. Or use your recovery to partition it. Remember to make a backup of your stuff as partitioning the sd card will wipe everything on it.

what is titanium backup bro?
*
It's an app you can download it from market. Need to be rooted to use it though. Assuming you're not rooted try clearing the app data and uninstalling?

Hi all expert smile.gif

I have a question to ask, currently im on CM7 ROM with HBOOT Bravo CM7 r2...
But now I wanna change to Leedroid.. I tried changing the HBOOT to stock or sense, but the Leedroid ROM can't seem to load. I can't seem to find if the Leedroid has it own HBOOT like CM7... so which HBOOT does it work with? or my other setup is wrong?
*
What hboot are you on now? For leedroid i think stock shud work. Maybe got problems with your ext partition or try reflashing

Hey guys. i have a HTC Wildfire with Unlimited Data Plan.

i want to buy a tablet that has Wifi option ONLY, not with 3G as i figure that i can use the hotspot function on my wildfire (i've upgraded to froyo) to act as a modem whenever i'm in the non-wifi location.

is it recommended to do so? i mean, i don't have experience with any tablet  before. so, i would really need to know some thoughts from those who have.

or would you suggest me to terminate dataplan on my phone and use 3G tablet instead? i'm a student and i don't really mind bringing tablet whenever i go because as of now i even bring my laptop around with me almost 24/7 including classes and lectures.

*tablet here can be anything as long as it's android tablet. as of now i'm only interested with Asus transformer and galaxy tab 10.1 wifi.
*
Since you already have a laptop id say go for the galaxy tab 10.1 since its thinner and lighter compared to the transformer. Your laptop can handle anything that needs a keyboard much better. About the hotspot thing, should be ok but you might have to be cautious about battery life since it'll definitely dry your phone up pretty quickly.

Guys, should i root my phone? unsure.gif SE stock firmware on my Xperia Mini Pro is too limited. Can't even change the black colour theme doh.gif But they say that rooting will void the warranty yawn.gif
*
Just root it. Most of the time if you need to claim warranty can just unroot and they probably won't notice

QUOTE(Vinx @ Sep 8 2011, 07:41 AM)
I urgently need help here sad.gif so desperate. I want to get some help, am I posting at the right topic? I am using Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000. Here is my problems:

1. I exchanged twlauncher.apk and removed .odex (I backup a copy of .odex)

2. After I had replaced, my home button doesn't work but showing Force Close towards twlauncher

3. So I decided to try to root my phone, even with Android SDK & ADB they won't detect my galaxy tab (Used Droid Explorer & Android Commander without Kies condition)

4. But I had failed to root (no experience + less guidance on GOOGLE)

5. Then I try to go for Power + Volume Up + Home mode...which is also ClockWorkMod

6. I chosen Wipe Cache, now my tab is in dead condition

It won't boot up passing the Samsung logo & it won't charge anymore.

Any experienced or pros here, kindly guide me. Sigh~ I thought of get rid of tab's ugly icon backdrop. End up bricked my tab sad.gif

I think your hero would definitely lag on newer sense like 3.0 even my desire isn't very smooth on 3.0 roms which is why i stuck with sense 2.1

Can the Android smartphones released here in Malaysia work on CDMA networks in the US/Canada?
