Agreed, many do not see the usefulness of forums... I was one of those people a while ago, then I found out that there's really loads that I can learn merely through forums... can buy/sell things summore

Anyway, the thread will probably be more popular during the next intake which is around August- September, kind of late this time

Currently working under Emeritus Prof. Yong Hoi Sen (arthropods), Prof. Phang Siew Moi and Dr. Lim Phaik Eem (seaweeds)
Personally, I think if you can skip, just skip, it saves you a lot of time THat's why I din't opt for studying overseas....
Most of my seniors who studied masters (even those who ain't 1st class students) are recommended to convert to phD in the end anyway (in the field of Science, not sure about the others) haha~
And since the scholarship offered is very good, why not? Of course there will be stress, but its well worth it

I din't stand for 5 hours
Very true about the 1 second thingy though, looks like they're trying to speed things up so noneed to let the ppl outside wait for so long

Most of the cases where graduates can hardly find a job refers to those who only took the course for the paper (cert)
I think its applicable in all fields, if one is not really interested in the subject at all, well, its rather apparent that he/she will probably fail...

I'm not very familiar with other fields apart from Science haha
But I know that if you work as a research assistant, then there's noneed to pay for the study fees after some document processing
What fee chart?

The Tahap means semesters in the chart, so basically the fees you need to pay reduces with each subsequence semester.
For masters, the minimum period of study is 3 semesters, so minimum should be around RM14k iinm

LOL, not very sure about the quality of the course since I'm not taking it
Perhaps you can try asking around for ppl who actually took the course for feedbacks
Also, you could always apply for scholarship what

For postgrads:
If you're planning to study masters by coursework, its best to take up a position as lecturer./research assistant so that you noneed to pay the study fees
If by research and dissertation, yeah, there will be a lot of scholarships to choose from

Yeap, 1 room 2 persons~
And KK12 has lower tendency to suffer from water disruptions and monkey attacks~
But depending on which block you stay, you might need to bear with the stench from the nearby ISB farm

But if one plans on working part time or have other more important stuffs to attend to, or if one learns slightly slower, 4 sems will be better

Now that the IPS's original car park was "upgraded" in to a new, big building (which I've heard has no car parks at all [good work UM btw ]), things are going to get a lot messier soon haha~
Luckily I always come early...

Added on May 10, 2011, 8:38 amOne things for sure, the bus services are horrible haha.... but we've seen big improvements compared to 3 years ago (during my 1st year)
Not punctual, I've never had the chance to take the bus before lol, it always starts with me (in good mood), waiting for the bus, and then it never came, in the end I walked (and still faster than the damn bus)
