Your satisfaction or hers?

That's the decision.

It's not useless when you consider that it has USB ports, extended battery and a physical keyboard. Once you use a tablet, you will know how annoying it is to type something out on a flat surface virtual keyboard. The pad itself is not that worth it when the retail price is RM1498, I would rather import it. The combo itself is since we are only paying an extra RM301 for it compared to 149 USD.

My laptop is there for work and other heavier tasks, but when I wanna go mobile, it's still heavy and the battery life is abysmal.

Will be using it in lectures for notes and also travelling. Yeah will be carrying the tab+dock together. I always carry my laptop around and the weight difference of almost 1kg makes a lot of difference. I do type pages for reports and also some reviews when I'm free at my campus and I'm quite lazy if you ask me to bring my power adapter along since it adds another few hundred grams to the total weight I carry.

You can't really run far from the specs. But this is by far the cheapest Tegra 2 powered tablet in the market now.

Depends on the situation. In class or out for meals I'll just take the pad. Otherwise I'll plug it back in and start typing away. Also, I don't need to hold it to watch videos.

In the end, all boils down to pricing.

Ouch, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 won't be cheap according to this pre-order pricing.

At that price, can almost get a Galaxy SL.

They should have a few units on demo at the very least.

You can give it a try. I don't believe all 150 units will be sold off to the pre-order people. After 12pm, all unclaimed tablets goes on sale to the public.

The 150 pre-orders for the Asus Eee Pad Transformer can get the keyboard dock for a special price of RM300, bringing it to a total of RM1798 for the tablet, dock and leather sleeve. However, we won't be getting out docks yet as it hasn't arrive so we need to deposit...

The leather sleeve is apparently worth it according to some sites. Much higher quality than the normal Eee Pad sleeves they sell separately.

There should be quite a few uncollected tablets after 12pm.

They have 2 units here. Already lined up for my number and gonna collect it at 12.30pm.
