DX lens on FX body usually vignette only at the wider angle.
eg. 17-55 DX can use on FX without vignette, but only from around 28-55.

if the definition of pro-grade is the gold ring.
then for DX of cos apart from 17-55 there is 12-24 and 10.5 fisheye.

ya, cos everyone going for the tokina 11-16...and now the samyang 8mm.

AF-S will probably die after awhile

that day at a TT, someone's 70-200 VR2 died on the spot.
seems some glass element came loose or something, cos when zoom etc can hear grinding sound...also can focus with no prob.
or could be the VR died...

the other day i tried someone's D3100 with some batt grip, so badly designed...the vertical shutter button so far away and slightly hard to press.
the phottix one looks better.
i also find the D3100 AF confirmation tiny red dots in viewfinder weird...

obviously f/4 is only 1 stop slower than the other 2.8 lenses like 14-24...u wont miss much.
i doubt ur going to use this lens to shoot events etc, mostly still life right?
the VR on it probably wont help u gain back that 1 stop since its such a short focal length, but it'll probably help u get more keepers.

then change the color la...change the font size too.

there's 1 angle where u can shoot the towers with the klcc neon sign at foreground...of cos u get the shops in front kacau abit

lets say 35mm on DX is 52.5mm...
the field of view may be similar to 50mm lens, but the lens distortion is still 35mm.
so its somewhat not that suited for headshots etc...likewise for 50mm lens on DX...full length shots all ok la.

depends on the seller la.
i got mine for rm3.3k, pretty good condition, full set with kenko filter...probably fake...and unfilled warranty card.

cos u go with ur needs.
i think most would not be able to succesfully use tamron 17-50 eg in low light concert shots...after get lots of OOF.

SP-90 is ur best bet.
or nikon 60mm AF-D, used around rm800-900.

imo softbox works better off-flash rather than direct...and u would need a big one for softer light.
better just put on a good diffuser...ppl have survived doing this for ages.

did one of her fake eye lashes drop out or something?

of cos softbox looks nicer...but if used wrongly also wont look nice.
btw, what flash are u using?

i think D800 wont even come out til end of the yr...
remember nikon doesnt make the sensors, sony does

yea nikon does the designing...like the d7000 sensor also.
but i guess they're still stuck on sony to make it...and i think like all jap companies sony got more important stuff to worry about...

the D7000 sensor uses Sony IMX071.
and seems its all used by A580, A55, and pentax K5.
D5100 should be same also...im sure got other Sony models that will use it soon.
