Limera1n is one of the easiest JB too. Just tap "jailbreaK" and follow instruction into DFU.
In this case, you have other options; redsn0w & snowbreeze is good to go as well.

Apple released the iOS 4.3.5 software update for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch today. This update fixes a  security issue with certificate verification. The previous 4.3.4 update was released to fix a PDF exploit which was used by a jailbreak but this new iOS 4.3.5 update fixes a security issue that has nothing to do with jailbreak.

Yes of course, mind yourself to google or flip few pages back for answers. Don't mean to be rude, answer has been repeating over & over again.

Read here for informations on JB 4.3.4. Unfortunately only tethered. If I were you, I wont go for it. Save all the hassle for a perfect JB would be a wiser choice perhaps? Good luck with it.

Just click backup via iTunes and you are good to upgrade.
Open iTunes > plug in iPhone > Right click your "iPhone name" and click "backup".

For apps, you have to "transfer purchase" em to your PC if you dont have the apps in your iTunes.
File > Transfer purchase.

Ever care to lose Jailbreak? Then stay where you are now. Once you updated to 4.3.5, can perform tethered Jailbreak only. Google the meaning of that please.

Perfect jailbreak applies till 4.3.3 only. If you wish to neglect jailbreak iDevice, then feel free to update your iTunes first before clicking "restore" via iTunes. Oh yah, don't forget to backup your data before "restore" phrase. During restoring phrase its time for you to crunch some pop corns while waiting wokeh?

The question is, do you even have the 4.3.3 shsh? If no, then there is no way you could go for 4.3.3 even.
Apple has stop signing IOS 4.3.3 meaning you can upgrade to 4.3.5 yet.

Its too late to have your shsh saved now. 4.1 & 4.3.5 are the shsh you have now. Left you four choices.

1) stay where you are (3.1.3)
2) upgrade to 4.1 (perfect jailbreak) - (provided you know how to restore ios 4.1 via saurik server).
3) upgrade to 4.3.5 (tethered jailbreak).
4) stay stale till latest untethered jailbreak being implemented

My suggestion to you, go for option number 2. As perfect untethered jailbreak for latest ios release date is unknown

Updating to 4.3.3 cause no impact for your case. Same thing, you need to rely heavily on your gevey. Any baseband above 1.59 must use gevey. Further, if you don't have 4.3.3 shsh saved by now; imposible you could do update straight to 4.3.3 via iTunes.

For iphone 3gs/i4 is not possible to downgrade if u dont have shsh saved.

Tethered yes.
Jusy plug in and select " just boot right now" via redsn0w and you will do fine. Remember to untick "install cydia".
