why dont look for stainless steel mesh type instead of those epoxy resin?

why is it not long lasting? it suppose to last for a life time without any maintenance other than using pressurize air to blow away the dust

i dont think it will make my engine dirty or something, but the smoothness during high speed and high RPM is certainly felt, so how you check if the engine is dirty or not?
