Dear all mad car enthuciast sifus , smile.gif

I am having a dillema deciding which to take for my neo campro 1.6 auto . sad.gif

KNN DROP IN REPLACEMENT FILTER VS SIMOTA DROP IN .[SIZE=14]

in term of performance , Simota FTW based on performance .

Attached Image

However , i need advice on below issues

1. Simota Drop in is cheaper than knn , maybe knn is emphasis on branding? Simota : rm140 Knn : rm250

2. In term of filtration , Simota vs Knn , which is better for usage driving for our dusty roads
( simota material is epoxy resin. A form of polymer.) ( knn= i not sure) pls advice icon_question.gif

3 . In term of quality , which is longer lasting as both provide million mile warranty
( simota cleaning kit everk 5000km , where knn cleaning and reoil is ard every 50 000 km)

4 . will the material of Simota Drop in , damage the engine is a long run?

Currently thats all .

Very much appreciate for those who contribute to reply my questions.

Thx and have a pleasant weekend all lyn members! thumbup.gif

the only different is quality
knn is made in USA...so quality is assured
while simota is made in taiwan

Some of Simota user in here did say it makes the throttle body dirty earlier because of the filtration is not that good (thus the better air flow)... if you can live with that, you can use it...

I prefer K&N more because I use a CPS engined ride and R3 use K&N for their CPS too... laugh.gif

yea , i heard the performace wise simot is higher . however the simota filtration is not as good as knn . dust and dirt will enter the engine due to the poor filtration and cause damage to the engine in long run

why is it not long lasting? it suppose to last for a life time without any maintenance other than using pressurize air to blow away the dust

i dont think it will make my engine dirty or something, but the smoothness during high speed and high RPM is certainly felt, so how you check if the engine is dirty or not?

simota re-oil every 5000KM (stated in the manual).
but i usually re-oil every 10000KM

and the shop said simota got no re-oil kit sold by them, eventhough they have the filter and ask me to use K&N re-oil kit instead. lolz

IMHO, the BEST air filter for normal road-cars is the PAPER ELEMENT TYPE! rclxms.gif

It offers the BEST filtration & comparatively much cheaper thus very affordable to change when needed.

Others eg K&N, Simota, etc are MORE inclined towards Performance. Agreed?
As such certain aspects eg filtration, engine wear & tear are by-passed/overlooked. For comparison, juz look at HEPA Filters used in room air filters. wink.gif

So if one chooses to use filters for better performance, one shld NOT be unduly concerned/worried abt other related/resulting factors. Juz kenot hv 100% all good when making a choice...in all we do in Life! Haha! rclxm9.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

U cant have both good filteration and good air flow lor.

unless u kasi modify bigger area of filteration. ie u modify twin parallel filter. else u cant get high flow good filteration because smaller lubang provide better filteration but sucky air flow.
