QUOTE(ernie ball @ Apr 11 2012, 11:25 PM) supposingly it shud be fit.., you may try before you purchase due had the same measurement..Added on April 12, 2012, 11:27 am QUOTE(kelvinftg @ Apr 12 2012, 09:39 AM) This car was on my list of cars to consider for by year end. But, I test drove it at the KIA test drive centre in Bangsar yesterday and I was disappointed. Perhaps my opinions below can help give some insight to potential buyers. Basically, i understand your feeling until i really driven the car for sometime.., i cant comment much about the noisy part due it is very personal or maybe it is because the different exhaust system compare to forte. Regarding the lag that you notice probably is because the gearbox is not in normal condition, probably is too hot. I guess most of the cars when the ATF is too hot there would be a lag whenever you floor it, pls don compare with those VW which is RM 160K and above.. hehe, I'm 180cm tall and my hair was touching the roof, felt extremely claustrophobic. Interior is acceptable, looks and feels pretty good for its price. Although materials used are plastics, they don't feel as cheap as say, the interior of a Fiesta? The biggest let down for me has to be the engine, it is too noisy, and underpowered. I currently drive a 1995 Honda Civic 1600cc, non VTEC. What was going through my head was "how can this be a 2.0 engine?". It is because the torque is simply not there at all when I floor it, not to mention there was also a very noticeable lag when I floor the pedal. All noise and no pull. I do not mean to insult but the old generation 1.8 Altis had more torque. Perhaps it has a better mid range torque but the test drive route didn't give me a chance to go above 60km/h. The ride is rather harsh but that is because it is a sport coupe after all. As for the handling and cornering, no chance to test it out for higher speed cornering due to the test drive route. My conclusion for this car after one test drive is that it looks great, it really does, but it doesn't feel great and it unfortunately doesn't drive great too. I do plan to go for another test drive at another KIA showroom before I strike this off my list. Hope I do not offend any owners here as these are my honest views! From the torgue you mention, i believe the car had to be maintain at least 4300 rpm to enjoy the full torgue. Since you got no chance to go above 60km/h, i believe you was just sunday driving the car thats why you cant even feel the handling and cornering. Go to the Kia Red cube to test drive which beside along the federal highway, there shud be more route for you. Good Luck. This post has been edited by Calvin_PB: Apr 12 2012, 11:27 AM |

QUOTE(sonyman @ Apr 30 2012, 10:20 PM) yo bro irenic, so far your koup has any problems like brake switch issue? any faults. Also what is your colour. My wife love the Red. but is it a solid colour, afraid of the colour fade later. Can SG help in prolonging the colour. Hi, regarding the brake switch issue, curretnly none of our owners facing this issue yet, due maybe it is a CBU car.after driving Koup, i also love it. ya she drives 90% alone all the time. so i think it is ok, wanna fetch ppl for lunch 4 person can squeeze comfortably. You said handling is better than 1.6 SX or 2.0 SX, my wife claims it grips better and has better confidence in driving the koup compare to 2.0 SX. 2ndly, if you never ram the brake to start the car and take care properly shud be no problem. yes, behidn ssqueezing ppl is comfortably, just one thing is just very hassle if more than 1 passenger. of course the handling would be better due lower set up from forte suspension and the body type is coupe type. Oh ya, forget to says that, if im not mistaken it is only the white is solid colours, other would be metallic even the Red you prefered. why am i so sure because i had problems with the solid also, but still getting the white ones. QUOTE(sonyman @ May 1 2012, 01:55 PM) ya i agree with you, the test drive route is around mid valley and a little hill climb, at bangsar. For me overall i dont have much experience with 2 doors, but koup within the price range it is the best buy, yes, Peugeot RCZ and Audi TT also in the range. Even BMW Coupe.i just went to have a look at the crz, about the same price. 115 also, but the downside of CRZ is a cannot get into the back seat, totally cannot fit me, i am just normal 175cm, as for the koup, i could sit nicely and fit into the back seat. for a quick lunch with 4 friends i think koup is very very friendly. As for the CRZ, the back seat is a waste of space. Dont know what i can do with it. Anyway CRZ looks also a little too funcky, too old to drive the car. I think the koup really is an all range age group, if you are looking for a 2 door coupe, this probably is the better buy, unless you wanna include satria neo, which i feel , it is also another not my taste kind of car. Anyway here is a list of 2 door coupe 1) satria neo RM 70K 2) Kia forte koup RM 115K 3) honda CRZ RM 115k 4) Mazda RX 8 RM 236K 5) VW Sei lo kong (Scirroco ) RM 188K 6) Polo GTI 132K 6) VW eos RM 257K 7) BMW mini cooper RM 200k above 8) so any more that i miss within the affordable range of 200K and below? But it is all depends how much you willing to fork out for a car. Welcomez, but im pretty sure all is metallic paint except the white would Solid. Because i hate my car to be solid also, but no choice there was 1 choice of white that i want. Try to confirm with a SA. the red is Ferrari Red so is not the red that using in the myvi chili red. LoL |

QUOTE(sonyman @ May 3 2012, 01:11 PM) wooo the white is very nice. But i dont think white is solid, it is a 2K white which the SA brags about it. 2k paint, haha, im really curious to go see the SA you mention.., the paper, the internet is obviously written there is a solid, and the white colour code name is also "Solid White". how it gonna be metallic and 2k.. LOL.Anyway i have one small concern for the koup. when we wanna sell in the future, i wonder how much will we loose.. sorry for asking, but then of course i am getting one. just wanna prepare myself . For our koup owners club, none of us thinking about sell in the future yet due the car is still very new, so nobody will expect loose how much for this. buying a korea brand is just depends on you mind or don mind, if you mind then can just forget it. anyway, even the luxury type cars like ferrari also going depreciate a lot. Malaysia only Toyota and Honda, honda and toyota. hehe |
