I tested this myself with my other phone and couldn't even get a clear call through. I could still hear what I was saying if I really concentrated hard but this is contrary to reviews saying it had awesome call quality.
I think buyers of Atrixes should be aware of the current issues the Atrix faces:
1. Occasional app crashes (possible fixed in the latest update (but is still in beta)).
2. Skype does NOT work on the Atrix http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=799905 Outgoing calls have loud static noises. Skype says it's Motorola's fault.
3. Latest update breaks all root with no known fix
4. Call quality issue as detailed below
5. No custom roms due to locked bootloader
