They're going to lose out a lot in terms of profits if they do that
If it comes, I'll definitely choose it despite the lower resolution |

QUOTE(jinguy @ Apr 14 2011, 04:56 PM) i play lots of game ~i hoping to get a lappy which can manage dota with minimal lag or delays and in my budget Even integrated GPUs can handle Dota for size 15.6inch will do juz fine i blive As for multilayer sessions, the connection speed will also affect smoothness (duh) Anyway, the N53Sv will do just fine Added on April 14, 2011, 6:03 pm QUOTE(watekeke @ Apr 14 2011, 05:48 PM) Well, different people have different needs... to be, the most important thing for a netbook is the user-friendliness... Since you'll probably be bringing your lappy along almost everywhere you go, glossiness would be a problem... the Toshiba NB520/550D offers rubberized materials which will come in handy imho~ And of course the speakers on the NB550D, tried it, and I'm completely blown away, the speakers on that tiny machine is as good as the ones I have now in the M500 As for the lower resolution, again, I think it doesn't matter since the screen is so small... Higher resolutions on such a tiny monitor will cause eye pain (at least for old me) This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 14 2011, 06:03 PM |

Unlikely, Toshiba units are often more expensive for the same specs.... and now it comes with harman/kardon, it'll be even more expensive
Perhaps 1.6-1.7k? |

Yeah, the price range should be around that for the one with C-50...
I was hoping the one we get here is the E-350 one |

QUOTE(ivan92 @ Apr 14 2011, 07:41 PM) facebook game, youtube, pps, watch dvd( i told him can get an external dvd drive For that budget (RM1.8-2k), I think its better to get an AMD E350- powered lappy (many choices at the moment) and put in an SSD instead (as suggested by eugenechiuu) This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 14 2011, 07:47 PM |

QUOTE(ivan92 @ Apr 14 2011, 07:52 PM) big storage SSD is kind of pricy Err..... even a RM1.4k netbook could handle your friend's usage? RM2-2.5k is quite overkill already any e350 powered model can recommend to my friend? btw budget is 2k - 2.5k the previous post was typo THe ThinkPad Edge is still one of the best subnotebooks at this time, but the specs are quite outdated already, perhaps your friend would like to wait for the new SB ULV processors? |

QUOTE(ivan92 @ Apr 14 2011, 08:19 PM) noted Apart from the AMD powered netbooks, there's really not much >10" <14" laptops with newer technology... Need to wait for more ULV models to come....80GB SSD with 1TB+original HDD as external hdd would be nice if got USB 3.0, anyway, he need something which is >10" but < 14" any model can recommend? QUOTE(dennis_lcfx @ Apr 14 2011, 09:38 PM) Is the Asus K53SV available in msia yet? K53Sv = A53Sv » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This keyboard on this one looks better than the one on N53SN. The keyboard on the N53SN flexes as well so con +1 for N53SN. The keyboard feel on the A series isn't very good if you ask me |

QUOTE(dennis_lcfx @ Apr 14 2011, 10:44 PM) Hmm it seems that the K53SV model on Asus's website comes in two different colours, and the keyboard is different for each colour: This has been discussed for a great, many times already: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1814339/+20» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « for yourself if you don't believe meWe're aware of that website, its the source of images before the A53/N53 were released If you look closely enough the buttons in the silver model seems to be sunken, very weird |

QUOTE(dennis_lcfx @ Apr 14 2011, 11:18 PM) Eheh, sorry for my ignorance it's just that I haven't been keeping up with the latest stuff regarding laptops until now (gonna study abroad soon, need to find a decent laptop). Anyway, at the moment, the specs that I have in mind are: Yeah, apparently the keyboard flex is one of the Asus N53's biggest setback.. but other than that, everything's good 15 inch display (Can't stand gaming on a 14 inch) i5 (I think i7 is an overkill for my normal usage) 4GB RAM (Any higher will be unnecessary) GT 540M (Not much difference between that and the 550M I guess?) and all of those are found in the K/A 53SV I was interested in the N53SN/SV initially BUT after watching this, I'm starting to have doubts. Even my old Qosmio F60 has keyboard flex, its hard to avoid it because of the long length of the keyboard when the keypad is included Well Nvidia's GT550M is significantly better than the GT540M... and the N53Sn is the only one having the GT550M at the moment, which makes it the best laptop for this category at the moment... If you don't game a lot, I guess there's no real need for the GT550M, where you can go for other 15" models like HP Dv6, Acer 5750G, Dell XPS 15, N53Sv, MSI GE620 Added on April 14, 2011, 11:29 pm QUOTE(ic3rock @ Apr 14 2011, 11:24 PM) This i know, but K43Sv at SG come with 1gb GC, Msia A43Vs come with 2gb GC... I'm not very sure about this, but it seems there are 2 variants of A43Sv (i5-2410) as well, one with 1GB, 1 with 2GB Added on April 14, 2011, 11:25 pm My friend bought K43Sv at SG here last weekend @ S$1298 free razer mouse... Anyway, bro you're based in Singapore? What laptop are you looking for at the moment? Manage to find an Acer TimelineX 3830T/TG>? This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 14 2011, 11:29 PM |
