QUOTE(fr3edwin @ Apr 18 2011, 12:34 AM) No news on that... its been rather quiet recently, probably because of all the chaos created by them new Alienwares Anyway, I think we can be sure that it won't be called the XPS 14 anymore... and perhaps the new model will have some influence from the Adamo XPS |

QUOTE(kelvinclyap88 @ Apr 18 2011, 12:48 AM) The HP Dv4 is the 14" with the best GPU at the moment i.e. AMD HD6750 (same as the one in the HP Dv6, abd should be on par with the GT550M in the Asus N53Sn)Well, the MSI FX420 doesn't have the best GPU, but its the one of the cheapest SB i5-powered lappy with a dedicated GPU and 3 years warranty (only rival is Acer's 4750G) This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 18 2011, 12:51 AM |

QUOTE(Iphone4Lover @ Apr 18 2011, 12:18 PM) Dell's stuff normally is more expensive compared to others especially higher end laptop(start from XPS) Well, price doesn't matter if it doesn't come out And I would say that the more expensive price is justified, the quality is good and hence worth it... Applicable to Fujitsu and Toshiba laptops as well, used them, loved them This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 18 2011, 12:59 PM |

QUOTE(jib3000 @ Apr 18 2011, 01:47 PM) sifu.. Between these 2, the Dell Inspiron 14R would be better because of the GPU between these two which one would u suggest; - HP Pavilion G4, i5-2410M + AMD HD6470@RM2349 or Dell Inspiron 14R, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2349, or better add some money to get the HP DV4 series.. please advise and thanks.. If not, I would choose the Acer 4830Tg or Asus A43Sv (~RM2.4-2.5k) If you have the budget to go for the DV4, why not? Especially so if you're into gaming |

I was told that it did not made much different except if you use multiple monitors with high resolution.
Hope that someone can guide/test out what is the clear advantage of 2GB GT540M card against 1GB cards |

QUOTE(pandera999 @ Apr 18 2011, 10:02 PM) its also a part of market strategy Marketing strategy indeed but, from what I understand, playing games in larger reso comes in handy when you have extra memory. Well, maybe then, this move is meant for those who wants to hook their lappy with an external screen which have a larger reso. So I'm assuming that watching 1080p movies or playing games in a fullHD TV won't be a big problem. |

Playing games in higher resolution as in 1080p? GPU like 540M is only a Class 2 GPU, playing games in 1080P would be killing its limits already, that's why the extra vRam won't really help at all...So I'm assuming that watching 1080p movies or playing games in a fullHD TV won't be a big problem. |

The Aliens have arrived.
[Stock] Alienware M11x R3 and M14x R1 pricelist updated Added on April 19, 2011, 10:15 am QUOTE(eugenechiuu @ Apr 19 2011, 09:04 AM) Well, that's why we have been saying it's overkill for such a GPU... Is this applicable to the 1.5GB GT555m and 3.0GB GT555m in the Alienware M14x? Wonder if its worth the extra money This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 19 2011, 10:15 AM |
