Guys, im planning on buying a laptop today. My target is Asus A42JP or lenovo Y560P-Core i7-2630QM 5906-6552- gonna use it for gaming (mainly COD, Racing games).
1)I'm confused between the GDDR5 Hd 6570 1GB and GDDR3 Hd 6570 2gb. Which one is better. I don't care about gaming in bigger screen so I'm assuming that the former is a better choice?
2)Is there a significant difference if i buy the i7 lappy compare to i5 if i'm only gonna use it for gaming purpose and also playing 1080p movies? (lenovo - i7-2630QM vs Asus i5-480M) which is the better choice? ps-the cache memory in i7 is tempting!
3)what about lenovo after sale service.. is it better than HP/Asus?
Hoping you guys can drop your pov here, it certainly will help me decide.. let me know if there's any additional info that i need to know.. Thanks in advance~

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 16 2011, 09:41 AM) Asus A42Jp is EOL-ed already, and the specs it offers is rather outdated. As for Lenovo Y560P, you might wana avoid that because of the lack of GPU switching and hence, shorter battery life (in before Trance4eva ) Anyway, what's your budget? Usage? Preferred screen size? My budget is below Rm3000, I gonna use it mainly for gaming (COD+racing games) and I prefer a 14" screen or bigger.

QUOTE(eugenechiuu @ Apr 16 2011, 10:44 AM) Asus A43Sv @Rm2899 - i7-2630QM + 540M Acer 4830TG @RM2499 - i5-2410M + 540M Acer N53Sv @Rm2599 - i5-2410M + 540M Thanks for the response bro. Anyway. HD6570 is a much better gpu than Nvidia GT 540M right. Can I know the cheapest Lappy that's using HD6570 as it's gpu. Thanks.

what's the advantage of having 2gb GPU (2gb GT540M) for a laptop? I understand that on a desktop GC which it will come in handy when playing in larger resolution..

QUOTE(Iphone4Lover @ Apr 17 2011, 03:18 PM) I think you should mean having 2gb of GPU having same speed with 1GB? Harder to brain the size of GMemory vs the speed(though all i hurd is that speed(core number/clock rate) > amount of memory). ok then.. I rephrase.. what is the advantage of having a 2gb GT540M compare to 1GB GT540M or is it just a marketing strategy?

QUOTE(pandera999 @ Apr 18 2011, 10:02 PM) its also a part of market strategy if people see 1gb and 2gb.. the price almost the same so, people rela sacrafice and spend few hundreds...even if i were the buyer, i rela spend few hundreds cz the price gap not much different... XD in term of "speciality" if the GC, i oso not sure maybe gt heavy game use GC higher than 1gb.. lets see wat sifu says... Marketing strategy indeed but, from what I understand, playing games in larger reso comes in handy when you have extra memory. Well, maybe then, this move is meant for those who wants to hook their lappy with an external screen which have a larger reso. So I'm assuming that watching 1080p movies or playing games in a fullHD TV won't be a big problem.
