any N53SN user able to update the nvidia control panel so can setting other than 3D Setting and Video
tat can set the resolution stretch and fit on the screen icon_question.gif
*
Why cannot fit your laptop screen. On your screen cannot go higher than 1366 x 768 you know unless you connect to external monitor
If wan fit perfectly on your screen go to desktop>right click> screen resolution > set to 1366 x 768

how come when do back up, recover half way then got

backup the hidden partition to make the recovery dvd. has stopped working

A problem caused the programe to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available?

shocking.gif shocking.gif
Wa you wasted how many DVD???
I think maybe you were doing something else on the laptop while its backing up to the DVD. Suppose to leave the laptop alone cause this program eats away lots of resources.
Nothing happen to mine cause I did not disturb the laptop while its backing up to the DVD

Btw you used AI recovery burner right???

ohh that WarCraft 3 problem thingy. That you must do some tweakings with the program. I forgot how d but you must open one of the files/notepad and change the resolution from there and not in-game option

Its nothing got to do with Nvidia. Its the game itself. Like I said, you have to do some tweakings with WarCraft 3 and not in-game option or Nvidia. You have to change the script of one of the files located in the WarCraft 3 directory

did you backup your registry? could it be your cod bo crack not working?
*
I did not backup my registry unfortunately doh.gif
My wan don't need crack. 2 msg appear. One says to start Black Ops in safe mode cause din start properly the last time and another ask me to play Black Ops in recommended settings.....both of them sound the same. Anyways, i tried answer yes and no for both and still nothing happen. My CPU, RAM, HDD shows no activity. Even task manager showed nothing

Like i said again...its nothing got to do with the GPU drivers or your laptop screen. Its the WarCraft 3 problem. Its an old game. Thats why you have to tweak the program/warcraft 3 and not Nvidia or ATI

issit safe to buy this model now? Wondering is the Sandy chip problem still persists..

The problem should be fix by now. Just look for the Asus laptop which has the blue sticker that says New Revision, Certified Design (for SB laptops) then it means its fix

So if we switch to SSD, our window scores will increase as well as our boot timeĀ  nod.gif
Plan to get an SSD but i am not sure if it is the righ time for it
SSD is sure expensive
hmm i was hoping to discover how to install SSD into N53SN.
*
If you wan speed and not space go for SSD
To install just open the back and swap the HDD with SSD smile.gif

here you go,
[attachmentid=2125903][attachmentid=2125905]

and i also follow cowithgun guide

to speed up your boot time, you have to try Windows Performance Toolkit. Should make your boot time to be under 30 seconds!

1. Download and install WPT: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/performance/cc752957
2. Follow instructions from sarf2k4 (at the bottom): http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1606856/+1940#entry40319554

XD
*
have you tried WPT??? biggrin.gif The fellow got 60sec wor we got better results tongue.gif . With WPT can get better???

guys i got a problem... i chk my n53sn performance log or something and there are alot of warning, critical and error logs like saying this program start up slower than expected... is this normal or wad?
*
you mean you check through windows event viewer??? Lol should be normal la. Try check a com which had not been reformat for more than a year you can see a million of those warning, error etc biggrin.gif
To avoid these problem you should slow some program on startup with Asus Fast Boot or using msconfig to disable them. Also delete Asus Live Update...this program cause lots of trouble and its useless
