A member in my family wants to get one for me.
I'm a uni student and working part time Since I'm usually on the move I plan to use it for browsing, online banking, emailing and presenting slides Since I have no ipad experience (total noob here -.-) 1. This Ipad Wi-Fi + 3G allows me to stay connected to the internet basically anywhere, am I correct ? Although I do understand that it doesn't have Flash Player which is totally fine with me at the moment 2. Most of my slides are done in Microsoft PowerPoint, since I understand the Ipad 2 doesnt support this, any ideas how I can work around this ? Basically what I do is present them to my clients and later discuss with and old fashion pen and paper, or with a whiteboard if one is available 3. Can I hook up my Ipad 2 to a projector and present my slides ? 4. Oh and got car charger for Ipad 2 ? Haha sounds like a silly question -.- Appreciate any help from you experts |

You need to commit a monthly payment if you want a 3G data plan. Or consider YES 4G, but it has a large upfront cost.2. Can do slides, but those apps need a separate purchase. 3. Yes... but you need to buy a digital AV connector (can't remember the exact name). 4. This one oso I'm interested. But generally, IPad2 can last longer than your car journey |

@gibber ..
1) Basically yes, if there is Edge or 3G signal, you'll be alright .. but with GPRS, forget it, too slow. There are quite a number of mobile broadband out there, try them out. For my wife, I settled for Celcom 3G for better coverage. 2) & 3) Yes .. Read more here http://www.apple.com/ipad/from-the-app-store/keynote.html .. and there is few other apps which allow you to do the same thing. 4) ipad requires more output current than the normal, no idea if there is any adaptor that will allow you to charge ipad in the car, but it can trickle charge using iphone charger. Check Griffin charger, they might have one that will charge ipad2 too. Added on May 9, 2011, 10:36 am QUOTE(aberrant80 @ May 9 2011, 10:31 AM) 1. For YES 4G, I believe you can't use the 3G SIM/radio in the ipad2. If you go this route, I guess go with ipad2 WIFI + YES 4G Huddle. But then again, if coverage is important to you, go for the traditional 3G providers.This post has been edited by wiraone: May 9 2011, 10:36 AM |

QUOTE(ozak @ May 9 2011, 10:41 AM) That is the consequence when overplay with gadget. We, the parents should know the limit. I do let my son played with the ipad (he knows how to go about in youtube and he is just 30 months old), but I do monitor him. I still bring him outside as normal .. he usually asked for the ipad before going to sleep.You lost social, interactive, physical and outdoor sense. |

Sign up for celcom/maxis/digi or whatever other broadband and put the simcard into your ipad and you are good to go. However, 3g coverage in malaysia is not really that wide, so yes, in some places where you only get GPRS signal, you can forget about getting online. But if you were stay in KL, then it's not really a problemI'm a uni student and working part time Since I'm usually on the move I plan to use it for browsing, online banking, emailing and presenting slides Since I have no ipad experience (total noob here -.-) 1. wow, so many fast responses !
Yes, I'm staying in Seri Kembangan and study in Cyberjaya and mostly do my business in Subang Jaya and Shah Alam. I don't really understand all this 3G, GPRS or Edge thing but I guess I can always ask Maxis about it . Oh, I see. So let's say I'm hanging out in Starbucks or McD, I still can get connected by using their WiFi services, correct ? Any issues about the build quality ? Does the screen crack easily ? |

if you like to surf the internet or do light word processing while lying on bed and want a light, medium size simple and easy to use tablet, get an iPad.
i find the iPad highly functional. |

not worth it...ipad2 is over priced and lots of problems...don't waste your money. Get ipad1 instead as it is proven to be more stable and much cheaper.
...pssk...now we got less people queueing and fighting for ipad2 in shops... |

Worth it or not? I am questioning this matter too but the only way I can be sure is to buy it! No worries as resell value is still high considering the demand.

Got iphone, ipod, ps3, pc, etc. Calculate 1day how many hour have been occupy by this gadget. But still depend on the parent how active his/her for the outdoor social. |
