QUOTE(Decky @ Jul 27 2011, 02:40 PM)
I was planning on saving for a SGS2 but two other Android phones came into the market that made me a little confused with what I want to save up for.

The HTC Sensation looks awesome with HTC Sense (I'm a big fan of HTC's GUI's since I previously owned a HTC HD), but my issue with HTC is that I hear that the battery life won't last me past a day. My experience with the first HD was also a bad one because I experienced heavy lag at certain times that made me miss important phone calls.

The HTC ChaCha also looks rather unique. I like physical keyboards (since it's been awhile since I used full-touch interface keyboards). The price is attractive too. My only problem is of course whether or not it lags  and whether certain apps (I'm thinking of utility apps and a few games) would work on it's tiny screen.
My preferences would be the phone with the better screen sharpness, usability, and of course ease-of-use.

I don't take pictures or hardcore game with my phones. Since I am a photography hobbyist, my DSLR will handle the picture-taking for me so camera quality isn't much of an issue. I just want something that will let me make calls, SMS-es, social network updates easily and on-the-go without lagging me. Battery life is important since I'm lazy as hell to charge my phone sometimes. Oh, and I desperately need a planner app for the phone if I'm getting one.

Thanks!
And in terms of budget, anything around 2k or below would be nice, since I'm saving for it anyway. But I do prefer to get a package with the telco or something. Currently a Digi user but I don't mind switching over to Maxis.

EDIT: Lower price means I get to get the phone faster I guess. Currently using a quarterly dead Nokia N97 mini, hardware problems all over!

A Blackberry seems so suit you more. If you're keen on having an android phone though, Get the HTC Desire Z if you need a keyboard. If not, HTC Incredible S at roughly the same price will suit you. The camera is also very satisfying and so are its performance and battery life. If you don't like something so huge, The Desire S is a better choice. The battery also lasts longer.

Actually, it's not the case that I cannot live without a physical keyboard granting my horrible experiences with the touch keyboard on my resistive touch screen HTC Touch HD that I owned previously.

I was allowed to play with my friends SGS today and the keyboard was decent. I do know however, that I have small problems while typing with my iPod touch.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions!

You can replace the stock keyboard with another one. There are many different keyboards out there, like Swype, Swiftkey, etc, which are different typing experiences. You can also choose among QWERTY, numeric (like those old Nokias), etc. There must be something which suits you. BTW, HTC ChaCha has a physical keyboard too...

Define 'better'.

It can mean a lot of things.

A better camera, a fast processor. We do not know what does 'better' means for yo'. We can't recommend anything without knowing what does 'better' means to you.

Decent GPS navigation, better in terms of overall value since the price is almost the same. Leaning to Incridible S now since it has bigger screen.

Dear all,

Currently i'm considering these 2 phones: Motorola Atrix 4g and Samsung Galazy S 2.

Both of these phones seem like awesome phones so I feel quite difficult to make a choice among them....Actually i prefer Motorola Atrix, but....duno will this Motorola phone have lot of problems or not...Anyone can give me some comments? Which 1 is better?

I considered HTC Sensation before this, but due to its only-1gb internal memory....i give it up....i had sick with the low-of-internal-memory issue with my current Acer Liquid Metal which running Android 2.2...always show me the low of internal memory warning although i had transferred all the transferrable app to the sd card...so now'm i'm looking for a bigger internal memory and faster fon...

Or do u guys have other better android fon recommend to me? my budget is rm2000 and below...thank you...

I use the fon mainly for (other than call and msg): Gaming, internet surfing, music/movie..I like to download lot of app from the market oso tongue.gif

So i think the speed, display, sound quality and the memory size is quite important to me..

Go for Incredible S. The camera is also significantly more powerful. Build quality wise Desire S wins though.

Hey guys,

am looking for a budget android phone for my mom to use cuz I feel the OS is really stable and could be used for a long time until the next technological wave change (ie from non smartphones to smartphones).. just want to know what are my choices out there for a budget of not more than RM6-700.

So far am looking at the Samsung Galaxy Mini, seems pretty okay for basic and minimal features, which is okay because that's pretty much all my mom uses, the basic SMS-MMS-call and now since its a smartphone, maybe ocassional web surfing for convenience.

Another reason I love android is cuz it syncs your phone contacts to your gmail account, mom will never have the issue of losing old contacts ever again

Other phones I hear are not bad are like HTC Aria/Legend/Wildfire(i think), LG Optimus 1, Huawei..

I'm not too knowledgable about android phones so please give me advice! Thanks!

ZTE Blade has a higher screen resolution. WVGA. BUt with a 600mhz processor it can't even support Angry Birds.

Definitely not. Ideos X5 is around RM8xx. Its a much better phone than the Mini or Zte Blade. Since X6 is more powerful than x5 it'll be out of your budget.
